Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer position will be responsible for the Total Quality Management of assigned suppliers of aircraft product.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates and approves suppliers for Type Certification and Production use.
2. Trains suppliers in applicable Honda quality requirements and operating systems.
3. Conducts audits of supplier facilities and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with all Honda and FAA requirements.
4. Coordinates and verifies supplier root cause and corrective action activities.
5. Implements supplier improvement plans as necessary in order to ensure suppliers perform at expected quality levels.
6. Supports the continued development of the Supplier Quality Management System and related processes.
7. Supports supplier Production Readiness Activities.
8. Supports cross functional Integrated Project Teams as necessary.
9. Promote the Honda Philosophies in daily SQA activities.
10.Travels up to 50% of the time to supplier sites (domestic and international).
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
1. Bachelor of Science Degree in related Engineering field preferred.
2. Experience working with and auditing to internationally recognized quality systems such as AS9100, TS16949, ISO 9001 preferred.
3. Experience in the development and oversight of an FAA Part 21 approved Quality System a plus.
4. Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean Sigma methodologies preferred.
5. ASQ CQE or CQA certifications a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Working knowledge of various quality tools and processes such as PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PDCA, DMAIC, SPC preferred.
2. Experience managing suppliers of composite structures, metallic structures, machined components or major assemblies a plus.
3. Experience auditing special manufacturing processes such as heat treating, welding, anodizing, chemical conversion coating, or nondestructive testing (NDT) a plus..
4. General computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
5. Effective communication skills and proficiency in English required.
6. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Job Summary
To establish and maintain the Project Quality Management program by performing SundtWay Quality Management functions based on compliance with contract documents and specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Work Environment
The work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility, being cold in the winter and hot in the summer. This is a 1st shift position in a very clean facility, offering the opportunity to work on interesting projects and custom orders. Employees enjoy a schedule of four 10-hour shifts a week with occasional overtime, which promotes a great work-life balance. We offer 10 days of PTO and 6 paid standard holidays
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $46.00/hr.

Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Purpose:
Conduct activities for supplier quality assurance according to the Global Automotive Supplier Quality Management principle.
Conduct regular audits, evaluations, and communication with suppliers to prevent potential defects
Analyze quality issues with suppliers, lead follow-up actions through the NCR Process, minimize impact on production line productivity, utilize 8D problem-solving tools to establish permanent recurrence prevention measures and evaluate their effectiveness.
Continuously improve the supplier quality management system through continuous communication and requirement reception with HQ GQC.
Involved in all events related to supplier quality.
Follows the internal Supplier Quality Manual and complies with OEM and IATF16949 requirements.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
Supplier Quality Assurances
Responding and following-up on Supplier quality issues (In-line, OEM)
- Follow the NCR process such as analysis, NCR notification, and containment action.
- Utilize 8D problem solving, lead and evaluate the supplier corrective actions and permanent measures.
- Review the supplier Control plan, P-FMEA documents, other documents related to the quality system
- Perform effectiveness evaluation, Loss cost claim to supplier, Reflected in the supplier management index.
- Arrange meetings with supplier and lead their improvement.
Performing Supplier audits / Manage supplier
- Regular audit (PCPA, Special, Safety, Theme, Validity evaluation, Etc.)
- Communicate through regular meetings with suppliers
- Update and monitoring the supplier evaluation index (Supplier scorecard)
- Establish a quality level-up plan for the worst supplier
Data aggregation, Summary, Reporting
- Create reports on supplier issues and other events
- Supplier quality trend monitoring
- Submit report on weekly and daily bases
Responding for HQ, Customer requirements
- Cooperate with Global business site,
- Support the data analysis and collection activities, and respond to the requisition on time.
- Actively participate in all global quality meetings
Responsible for appropriate documentation
- OEM audit, Internal audit, IATF audit
Performing tasks using the company computer systems
- G-MES, G-QMS, I-PCS, Etc.
- Comply with the company quality system, quality manual, business process
Supplier Inspection Agreement, Inspection Standard Approval
Support inspection technology to investigate quality problems found in the process
Qualification
Relevant manufacturing/engineering bachelor's degree is preferred
Understand manufacturing quality management environment.
Significant experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
knowledge ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949 requirements
Quality stabilization through dimension / defect improvement
Experience in Internal and external audits
Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers
Technical Competencies:
Utilization of Quality Computerized system (Customer Portal, Mando)
Knowledge of Quality Core Tools - AIAG VDA: FMEA, PPAP, SPC, APQP, MSA

Knowledge of GD&T, Drawing interpretation ability
