Responsibilities
How you'll do it:
Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet student needs by utilizing Catapult Learning instructional models, strategies, and curricula.
Provide academic, social, and emotional services for students who require additional support to thrive in school.
Conduct student assessments, use data to develop and implement academic instructional plans and classwork, and collaborate with school personnel and families to drive outcomes.
Access the school's behavior support and intervention strategies, including implementation of de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention, to maintain the safety of students and staff.
Maintain program instructional materials and computer lab components.
Foster a positive classroom environment as you maintain the confidentiality of students and families.
Identify and enroll eligible students through existing test scores, administering tests, and/or other acceptable methods as required by Catapult Learning.
Develop and maintain short- and long-term individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans, functional behavioral assessments, and behavioral plans.
Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from Catapult Learning classrooms.
Attend training sessions, pass content assessments, and deliver designated instructional models for eligible students.

General compliance with MA and Federal Special Education regulations in cooperation with and at the direction of the Director of Special Education. This includes written educational assessments and quarterly reports, attendance at IEP Team Evaluation meetings, and the preparation of detailed educational plans for each student.
Evaluation of Assistant Teachers, interns and special projects in conjunction with the Director of Special Education.
Attendance at Staff and Supervision meetings.
Attendance at clinical conferences/progress reviews and the preparation of oral and written reports for such meetings.
Development of an individual program for all summer school students.
Assist in Lunch/Recess duty as scheduled.
Assist the Director of Special Education in the design of methods for evaluating curriculum and establishing policies regarding the operation of the school program.
Maintain and increase effectiveness in behavior management and communicating with other professional staff through the use of training, supervision, and consultation.

Teaching Position Summary
Alexander Twilight Academy is currently hiring summer teachers who will be responsible for instructing rising 6th, 7th, 8th and/or 9th graders.
