Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth in accordance with program philosophy. Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom and outdoor activities based on developmentally appropriate practices by using provided curriculum as a guide and following PA early learning standards. Actively engage children and participate in activities. Generate Progress reports and teacher conferences. Communicate needs of children to the director. Ensure and follow all policies, procedures and regulations that govern the program including DHS and Keystone Stars. Ensure active supervision of children at all times of the day. Understand and follow emergency procedures and how to implement them (emergency preparedness plan - will be provided to you during orientation). Ensure a healthy classroom and outdoor environment-including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards to protect the children and staff against infectious/communicable diseases in accordance with regulations. What's Required of You Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or another Human Services field. 2 years of experience working with children in a similar role 2 written personal references (non -family) Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Substitute SCHOOL-ATHLETE CENTER-66251 5300 KidsPeace Drive Direct Client/Patient Care PT M-F Days/Evenings The Teacher Aide I is responsible for providing overall assistance to the teacher by assisting in designing and delivering instructional systems and therapeutic treatment plans for school-age children. The Teacher Aide is responsible to provide A.M. residential assistance and supervision of students during A.M. and P.M. transportation. Job Duties/ Essential Functions * Assist the Teacher with instructional planning and implementation, keeping records, setting up activities, and any other duties deemed necessary by the teacher. * Support implementation of the behavior modification system and provide crisis prevention techniques within the classroom. Provide supervision whenever necessary. * Fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others. Qualifications (Education, Training and Experiences) * High School Diploma Required. * Pursuant of an Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Valid driver's license required. * Ability to obtain SCM certification and CPR/First Aid certification during New Associate Orientation. Requirements Education and Experience: · Experience working with children in a group setting, experience with mixed age groups preferred. · Willingness to educationally work on a Child Development Associate (CDA).
