Critical Outcomes
Program Support from Development to Delivery: Support the development of a Call for Proposals and Call for Reviewers, implementing best practices in proposal collection, proposal review, program administration, and program delivery for the in-person and online program of the National Planning Conference.
System Management: Effectively uses event management software (Cadmium) to creatively and impactfully evolve user experiences to achieve conference goals. Responsible for program data entry, program revisions, and producing accurate program and presenter reports.
Strategic Communication and Collaboration: Use strategic communications methods and practices to engage members. Foster effective collaborations with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), team members, and other stakeholders to support education program development.
Core Responsibilities
Proposal & Peer Review Administration. Leads the timely execution of APA's conference proposal collection and peer review process inclusive of conference management system set up, testing, proficient system monitoring, and report production.
Program Administration. Leads administration of APA's conference education program using project management methods including maintaining high quality standards with performing accurate session data entry and updating, quality control, content review, and disseminating program communications to presenters.
Customer Focus. Provides exemplary customer service communications answering requests, demonstrating conflict resolution and de-escalation skills to resolve issues. Updates resources to proactively provide effective communication with submitters, reviewers, and facilitators.
Compliance. Ensure that education programming complies with accreditation and certification requirements as applicable.
Evaluation and Improvement. Collect and analyze feedback from participants to continuously enhance program content, format, and delivery methods. Conduct research into learning formats, audience engagement methods, and emerging trends to provide recommendations on leading innovation in education.
Qualifications (Education and Experience)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with experience in creating professional documents, managing spreadsheets, developing presentations, and utilizing email communication.
3-5 years of experience in program development for conferences and events, with a focus on creating and enhancing educational content.
Proven track record in proposal collection, peer review processes and program management.
Experience with conference management software (Cadmium), other technologies, and association background a plus.
Customer focused, problem solver, listener, and powerful communicator. Flexible, dynamic, and engaging, with strong interpersonal skills.
Models and effectively communicates organizational values and priorities. Ability to project a favorable and professional image of APA to customers, vendors, staff, and the public.
