Discovery Point Oakwood is currently looking for a Part-Time Afterschool Teacher who will transition into a Full-Time Summer Camp Instructor role for the summer months.
Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Part-Time Afterschool Teacher to join our team during the school year. This role will involve working with students in grades 1st through 5th and when the school year ends, this position will transition into a Full-Time Summer Camp Instructor role for our exciting summer camp program, where you'll lead and supervise fun activities and attend fun field trips!
Afterschool (Part-Time):
Assist students with homework.
Plan and facilitate enrichment activities, such as arts, crafts, sports, and games.
Ensure students' safety and well-being during afterschool hours.
Summer Camp (Full-Time):
Lead a group of campers in a variety of outdoor and indoor activities, including games, crafts, and team-building exercises.
Supervise and ensure the safety of all campers, maintaining a fun and positive environment.
Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans and camp activities.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding campers' progress and well-being.
Supervise children on field trips
Qualifications:
High school diploma (required)
Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to create and maintain a safe, fun, and structured environment.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to summer camp).
A passion for working with children and fostering their development.
Work Schedule:
