What You'll Do
AKBH provides practicum placement and supervised clinical training internships for both graduate and undergraduate students. Our structured graduate level internship program is designed for students training to become master's or doctoral level behavioral health clinicians. We prioritize Bachelor of Social Work students for our undergraduate internships.
Interns receive individual supervision, training, and experience in providing services. We provide a Core Competencies Learning Community for undergraduate and graduate interns, which provides students the opportunity to meet weekly with senior clinical and medical staff to learn the core competencies of clinical behavioral health services. Clinical interns are paired with an AKBH clinical field instructor who will act as their mentor during their internship. Graduate level interns will gain experience in more than one clinic or with more than one speciality population to ensure a well-rounded experience.

Enroll in Chadron State College's online teacher preparation program and do your practicum work and student teaching here in the Mat-Su. Successful graduates of Chadron's program will compete for employment in MSBSD and will have their tuition fully repaid after five years of service.
