Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Nurse Intern provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, clinic or region with direct supervision of a licensed nurse. The Nurse Intern performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments with supervision.
The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) assesses patient health problems and needs and develops and implements nursing care plans under the supervision of a licensed nurse. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation. On a daily basis, the SNE will:
Care for patients in the home with assigned student nurse preceptor
Observe and effectively communicate changes in patient's condition to the Registered Nurse.
Perform physical assessments, vital signs, procedures, administer medications, report clinical observations, and assist with activities of daily living in partnership with student nurse preceptor
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
Practice standard precaution and isolation procedures to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, family members, care givers, visitors, and staff.
Interact with interdisciplinary team, patients, staff, and visitors professionally and positively
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications
Currently within one year of anticipated graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Certification in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association; must not expire during Nurse Externship
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the future
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Have a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA being desired
Be actively involved on-campus and/or in the community
Possess an interest in working in the home health setting

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

Laboratory Tests
* Observe sample preparation for reference laboratory testing
* Prepare and review ear cytology samples and blood smear samples
To participate in the Student DVM Externship Program, you must:
* Currently be enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year in an AVMA-accredited DVM Program
* Have an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative spirit
* Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Uphold confidentiality standards for sensitive information
* Possess effective communication skills
* Be capable of lifting objects up to 40 pounds and performing physical tasks like bending, crouching, squatting, and carrying equipment
* Provide proof of medical insurance, rabies vaccine/titer, tetanus vaccine, and a recent TB test prior to starting the program
Time Commitment:
* Externships are a minimum of two weeks and can extend up to three weeks based on your school requirements
* Your schedule will be created based on your school requirements and provided to you before your first day in the clinic
* Weekend hours may be required based on your school requirements and supervising Doctors schedule
* You will never be asked to work a late or early shift as all of our clinics have standard operating hours based on the region and do not offer overnight boarding

VEG's Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program gives vet tech students hands-on experience in emergency medicine while working alongside our credentialed, emergency veterinary technicians. Students will focus on honing their emergency skills including obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, caring for hospitalized patients, triaging emerging cases, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. If you're as interested in emergency medicine as we are, we'd love to have you!
Note: This is an unpaid externship and rabies vaccinations are required unless your school's rabies mitigation policy allows you to be unvaccinated and still handle unvaccinated pets.
* Flexibility: YOU Choose the length of your externship to meet your school's requirements
* Location: YOU choose where you'd like to extern (depending on hospital bandwidth)
* Mentorship: YOU will be supported by a credentialed veterinary technician
* Focus: YOU will be fully-immersed in what emergency medicine truly entails
REQUIREMENTS
* Currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology or veterinary nursing program (or one actively seeking accreditation) and will be in a class that requires externship hours and/or skills. This application is not for veterinary students or veterinary assistant students - only veterinary technology or veterinary nursing students.
* Your externship must need to begin within 6 months of application.

Your Impactful Role
The Peachtree Orthopedics Administrative Internship is a 12-week, full-time program aimed at highly motivated individuals who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate-level program and are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare administration. This experience is designed to provide young leaders with a work experience at a premier independent orthopedic surgery practice.
Interns will be exposed to operations, finance, and systems through project-based work experiences. Project opportunities will vary and reflect both the participant's learning goals and the organization's needs. In addition to project work, candidates will attend and document meetings, tour Peachtree Orthopedics facilities, present project findings to leadership team.
Time Commitment
Program dates: May 19, 2025 - August 8, 2025 (12 weeks)
Students work full-time during the week
Students are responsible for meeting their projects' respective deadlines
Workdays are variable and may require long hours
Placement Process
Students are placed in various areas throughout Peachtree Orthopedics based on student interest and department needs. Placement and location will be determined during the selection process.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $18/hour
