Program Summary: The Child & Adolescent Group Services program facilitates intensive group counseling for children ages 6 to 16. Services are facilitated by licensed mental health clinicians who have significant expertise in child and family counseling. Clinical issues addressed include, but are not limited to, anger management, coping skills development, interpersonal skills development, and trauma and crisis therapy. Intern Position Summary: Under the administrative/clinical supervision of the Director /Field Instructor, the CAGS Intern will provide clinical care and training to clients in a community based partial hospitalization setting. Alongside our multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and specialists, you will work to develop, implement and manage specialized treatment plans for our clients year-round. Intern Experience Details: As the Child & Adolescent Group Services Intern, you will be responsible for providing the following services, including, but not limited to: Administer appropriate therapeutic groups to youth within various clinical topics based on client needs. Co-facilitating treatment plan meetings with guardians, other treatment providers and collateral contacts. Assist in crisis intervention, problem resolution and process discussions with clients on an assigned and an as needed basis. Co-facilitate weekly group session. Other services necessary to the enrichment of the internship environment. Location: This position is on-site. We have locations in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Summit County. Hours: Services occur in the evenings during the school year and in the morning during the summer time. Qualifications: This internship is for first or second year Masters' level students. Therefore, a Bachelor's Degree and enrollment in a related Master's program is required. An SWT, CT, LPC, MFT or LSW is required. Job Description: Department Description: Project Go! was an initiative started at Tri-C in 2012 to better address students' financial and support needs, and to ultimately improve academic performance and college completion. The college received a grant from several major foundations to create Project Go! Financial Aid staff and interns on all campuses were trained as benefit coaches and Financial Aid Managers managed the program. In 2022, the College was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education as an extension of Project Go! to assist the College in meeting the basic needs of students; this would include housing, food assistance, transportation and emergency funds. Interns will assist in efforts to improve student usage of college resources in these four critical areas. The goal is to continue to increase student and faculty awareness of Project Go and provide direct support using a holistic and case management approach to meet student basic needs. Internship Description: Interns will work with their supervisors and other members of the Project Go!/Student Basic Needs team to conduct peer-to-peer outreach. Interns will staff tables at student events, serve as speakers in student club meetings, and work to extend the reach of the "Needs Met?" marketing campaign. Interns will work closely with counselors, campus-based food pantries, and the Student Life offices to promote these services. Student interns will have the opportunity to increase their skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.
