Project Go! was an initiative started at Tri-C in 2012 to better address students' financial and support needs, and to ultimately improve academic performance and college completion. The college received a grant from several major foundations to create Project Go! Financial Aid staff and interns on all campuses were trained as benefit coaches and Financial Aid Managers managed the program.
In 2022, the College was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education as an extension of Project Go! to assist the College in meeting the basic needs of students; this would include housing, food assistance, transportation and emergency funds. Interns will assist in efforts to improve student usage of college resources in these four critical areas. The goal is to continue to increase student and faculty awareness of Project Go and provide direct support using a holistic and case management approach to meet student basic needs.
Internship Description:
Interns will work with their supervisors and other members of the Project Go!/Student Basic Needs team to conduct peer-to-peer outreach. Interns will staff tables at student events, serve as speakers in student club meetings, and work to extend the reach of the "Needs Met?" marketing campaign. Interns will work closely with counselors, campus-based food pantries, and the Student Life offices to promote these services.
Student interns will have the opportunity to increase their skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.
Duties may include:

* Assisting with student focus groups and surveys
* Interviewing students about their experiences with college support services

In 2022, the College was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Education as an extension of Project Go! to assist the College in meeting the basic needs of students; this would include housing, food assistance, transportation and emergency funds. Interns will assist in efforts to improve student usage of college resources in these four critical areas. The goal is to continue to increase student and faculty awareness of Project Go and provide direct support using a holistic and case management approach to meet student basic needs.

Interns will work with their supervisors and other members of the Project Go!/Student Basic Needs team to conduct peer-to-peer outreach. Interns will staff tables at student events, serve as speakers in student club meetings, and work to extend the reach of the "Needs Met?" marketing campaign. Interns will work closely with counselors, campus-based food pantries, and the Student Life offices to promote these services.
Student interns will have the opportunity to increase their skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership.
