Work with a small team to keep the plant and equipment very clean and audit ready. The tasks required, but not limited to, are general housekeeping, sanitation, and other duties as assigned by supervision. Proper break down of equipment, cleaning, and reassembling pumps, sanitary lines, and line equipment. Operation of CIP skids in addition to breakdown and cleaning of line components. Knowledge of chemical handling procedures including PPE required. Completion on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual MSS items. Communicate with supervisor when equipment needs attention. Report/resolve any observed quality issues while cleaning equipment. Ability to follow GMP and Stratas policies. May meet with vendors, customers and quality representatives and other company staff to discuss and resolve quality issues. * Ensures that the company's product "hold" policies and procedures are communicated to plant staff and that the plant adheres to the procedures. Recommends, as appropriate, the suspension of production or the release of product when quality standards are not achieved. * Responsible for localizing and maintaining formulas and product codes through Product Lifecycle Management Software (PLM). * Supports R&D with test batches, data, and sample collection. * Completes capability reports for tests batches and sends to QA Manager and R&D. * Works with R&D to ensure timely disposition of test product. * Trains Conversion and Logistics Associates on essential laboratory tests to perform, which ensures consistent product quality. Assists in the training and observation of Associates in cooperation with other team leaders to ensure performance tests meet established procedures and operating procedures are being followed. * Establishes monitoring procedures in the laboratory to keep track of all products placed on hold due to performance, micro, packaging, reprocess, and makes recommendations for disposition. * Participates in or may lead internal and external quality audits of the plant. Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality improvements. Ensures that all GMP and safety standards are in compliance. * Maintains and reports required operational information to management. Job Description The Plant Engineer will provide engineering support for the plant, to include project implementation, production and equipment improvement initiatives and to support the daily operations of the plant to ensure all safety and quality goals are achieved. Responsibilities: 1. Project management, purchasing, and supervision of contractors for all projects to assure completion on a timely basis within budget. 2. Provide the necessary safety and quality training to contractors. 3. Provide technical support for plant processes and improvements. 4. Maintain daily communication with production and maintenance 5. Attend daily production/quality meetings. 6. Assist management with appropriate training to assure regulatory compliance. 7. Observe facility operations and assist with problem solving on a regular basis. 8. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements. 9. Follow, monitor, and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies. Qualifications Education: BS degree in engineering or technical related area from an accredited college/university ; Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred Related Experience: Proven Engineering experience (+5 years or more) record of technical / maintenance troubleshooting and project work. Equipment/Software Skills: Working knowledge in personal computers (Microsoft software necessary, Project management, Microsoft Project preferred) and basic understanding with Allen Bradley PLC. Knowledge of CMMS such as MP2 is a plus. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: None required, any maintenance related licenses would be a plus such as PE, ASME welding, PLC's , wastewater, etc. Competencies: 1. Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability working well with people. 2. Ability to identify critical areas for improvement and develop plans for correction. 3. Competent in making sketches, drawings, line layouts, plans etc., and written instructions as necessary to affect equipment maintenance / repair. 4. Participative team attitude skills with all personnel to assure production standards, safety, and sanitation levels are maintained as defined by the Mission Statement. 5. Good skills in ammonia refrigeration, steam generation and PLC's. 6. Good problem solving skills through team and individual efforts. 7. Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills Additional information Physical: Ability to walk distances across facility, climb steps and ladders on occasions, sitting at office desk work, sometimes in cooler atmosphere ( 35-45 degrees) , sometimes in engine room ( + 95 degrees in hot months). Sensory: Ability to hear, see, speak, smell and touch well is necessary to perform basic essential task.
