Our Distribution Centers are hiring full-time associates for multiple roles to support the day, night, and weekend shifts. PetSmart offers four 10-hour weekday shifts or three 12-hour weekend shifts. Morning Shift is Monday - Thursday from 5am - 3:30pm

As a Distribution Associate, you will be part of an energetic team environment with the opportunity to work in a variety of positions in our warehouse:
Picker & Packer: Picks store specific product from modules into totes and on conveyor belt, pack larger product to stack on pallets, automated WMS
Stocker & Cherry Picker: Places handpicked products into designated modules or reserve docking locations
Receiver & Unloader: While unloading trailers you'll scan products into inventory; sorts mixed SKU pallets for stocking and replenishment
Loader: Ensures trailers are loaded with accuracy to optimize capacity

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
If available in the Distribution Center, associate must be able to utilize the functions of the automated warehouse management system in order to perform daily tasks.
May use an RF unit to scan transport number, product and bin tags to verify proper location of merchandise.
Transfers totes, carts and pallets of verified merchandise from the receiving area to their assigned reserve stock locations.
Locates the product being stocked within the assigned location and verifies that the NDC number and description of the new stock match the current stock before placing on shelves.
Checks existing stock and removes any items that are damaged or have an expiration date of less than six months from the current date.
Forwards any non-saleable products to the Return Goods area for processing.
Places new stock behind the existing stock so that the stock with the earliest expiration date will be the first moved to the pick areas; puts customer returns back in proper warehouse location daily.
Transfers merchandise from reserve stock area to assigned pick area when necessary.
Verifies that the NDC/UPC number, ABC number and product description matches the shelf label before placing merchandise on shelf.
Breaks larger units down into correct pick quantity, removes any cellophane wrap and fills the pick shelf properly with the latest expiration dates on the left and the earliest dates on the right.
Picks interdivision UPS orders.
Fills Friday pick orders for Saturday delivery customers; may also fill customer orders daily, as situations arise.
Maintains a clean work area to help ensure that merchandise remains clean and to help prevent work related injuries.
Must be able to work overtime when necessary and participate in physical inventory.
Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
Performs related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires completion of a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires less than one (1) year of equivalent work experience. Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to read and understand the English language for the purpose of comparing and reading product descriptions, names and shelf labels.
* Must possess basic mathematical skills.

Pick customer orders using forklift equipment
(Reach Truck/Cherry Picker/Stand-Up.)
Move boxes of varying sizes throughout the warehouse and be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively for extended periods of time.
Assist in loading trucks for shipment.
Locate, load and move products.

Summary:
The Stockperson is responsible for physical and clerical tasks associated with shipment and reception of supplies and finished products. The Warehouse Associate position exists to ensure effective movement and management of inventory between the dock, sales floor, product repair, customer pickup and delivery. This role ensures the proper evaluation and shipping of merchandise and managing inventory flow. The Warehouse Associate is also responsible to unload trailers (Receiving). Individual contributor within a designated unit.
Job Duties:
Fills order requests, stage merchandise and load for timely shipments (Shipping).
Evaluates products and moves to designated zones for processing (Receiving)
Moves merchandise between dock, stockroom staging area, sales floor, customer pick-up or delivery, and removal of 'sold' merchandise from sales floor
Audits and maintains accuracy of HFM (Hold for Merchandise) staging area
Responsible for the assembly merchandise
Assembles and disassembles fixtures for seasonal flexes or floor plan changes
Processes receipts and ensures inventories are controlled, monitored, and logged
Creates required documentation to log all shipments and deliveries to customers
Ensures customer service through timely, attentive and friendly service during all customer pick-ups and inquiries
Reports and responds to Store Management about unsafe and/or unethical conditions
Develops "team" environment with the sales floor, providing timely movement of merchandise setting floor to presentation standards
Protects Company assets by following company policies and direction for customer pick-up procedures
Performs daily housekeeping, including cleaning and straightening, etc.
Miscellaneous duties as required, including as extra sales help as needed once cross trained
Moves merchandise between dock, sales floor, customer pick-up or delivery and removal of 'sold' merchandise from sales floor in a timely manner
Maintains safe/clean receiving area
Assists customers by delivering items to their car, assisting them in loading and securing of merchandise
