Our Staff Engineer is a key member, leading and collaborating with a team of Engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve and enhance existing systems, and identify new opportunities to apply knowledge to solve critical problems. This individual contributor role is an expansion to the newly created Financial Applications team. The ideal candidate has extensive technical and functional expertise in Finance Systems, and experience working with various ERP Financial Systems (e.g. Workday, PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; or SAP). Position Responsibilities As a Staff Engineer, you will: * Lead multiple initiatives and provide technical leadership to the engineering teams * Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems for building enterprise-class business applications * Own complete solution across its entire life cycle * Be accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions * Lead in design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization * Utilize programming languages like C#, Python or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of cloud tools and services * Consistently share best practices and improve development processes within and across teams * Mentor junior team members professionally to help them realize their full potential Qualifications * Fluency and specialization with at least two modern object-oriented languages such as Python or C# * Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current financial solutions * Experience in building products using micro-services-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs * Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code * Fluency in DevOps Concepts and Cloud Architecture * Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments * Experience in security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth * In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms * Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication) * Strong problem-solving & analytical ability * Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment Experience * 10+ years of professional software development and design experience with .NET framework (C# including object-oriented design) * 8+ Experience with database technologies like SQL Server, MYSQL, Postgres etc. * 5+ years of experience with architecture and design of large-scale, mission-critical application using open-source frameworks * 3+ years of experience working with financial systems and integrating with various ERP systems (ideally Workday) * 3+ years of experience with Azure, AWS or GCP Public cloud platforms * 3+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End testing Education * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience Location: Home Office, US Based, Eastern or Central time zones preferred Annual Salary $115,000.00 - $230,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline.
