Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree and possess a valid Nevada Department of Education License with the endorsement in the area of K-12 Generalist. Candidates with out of state licenses must show that their NVDOE license is in process in order to be considered for the position.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and enjoy collaborating in teams. Candidates should also have strong computer skills, have an understanding of effective lesson planning/course design with online instruction experience preferred. Odyssey Charter School maintains a competitive salary scale. Our salary scale ranges from $61,412 - $118,855, placement on the scale shall be based on your previous school-based contract amount. We are currently in the process of revising our licensed staff pay scale to align with the recent changes made by Clark County School District. However, we are not able to finalize the new pay scale without budget information from the current legislative session. While we are waiting for more information about our funding, our Board of Directors has approved a $10,000 recruitment incentive for outside applicants that have not already been placed on CCSD's current scale implemented July 2023 (placement by years of experience and education credits). This $10,000 incentive serves as a “down payment” on a salary adjustment until the pay scale revision is approved. The first payment of the recruitment incentive of $5,000 will be issued in August and the second payment of $5,000 will be issued in January. In the event the scale is approved and the new placement is higher, placement will be adjusted. If their new placement on the salary scale exceeds the $10,000 incentive, the difference between the $10,000 and the new salary will be reflected on the 2025/2026 contract.
Our health insurance plan is aligned with the Clark County School District and we participate in the Nevada Public Employees Retirement System. Odyssey's licensed staff contract days are 7 hours and 11 minutes per day. Employees receive 15 sick days per year and you may bring over your unused accrued sick time from your previous school district or public charter school within Nevada.
