Deliver specialized support, instruction, and advocacy for students with disabilities in a manner that is conducive to academic and personal development.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and student guardians to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Participate in IEP meetings and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support each student's goals
Complete and implement lesson plans.
Document progress of students and develop data collection procedures
Multi-categorical/Cross-categorical, intellectual, learning, emotional, and/or behavioral disability special education certifications may be acceptable

Role Mission: IDEA Intervention Specialists serve as Special Education teachers. They are responsible for the achievement and support of critical students. Special Education teachers work with students who have a wide range of learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities. They teach various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math, to students with gaps of 2 or more years. The main goal is to close that gap by 2 years in just one school year. Compensation:
The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $48,500. This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500-$4,000 each. We also offer opportunities and incentives through our Teacher Career Pathway with the potential to earn up to $10,000 in additional compensation. Additional hourly compensation is provided for after school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
Experience: Experience in a Special Education classroom setting
Licenses or Certifications: Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license specializing in Mild/Moderate special needs.

Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students
Implement IEPs, assess students' performance, and track their progress
Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals
Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
Teach Critical Student Intervention (CSI) small groups consisting of students that are academically at risk in reading and/or math to include students in general education, 504, response-to-intervention, Special Education and English Language Learners.
Collect and analyze student data in order to make effective decisions to maximize achievement
Discuss student's progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation
Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
Implement formal and informal assessments to track each individual student's progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update gradebook weekly
Communicate students' progress with student and family on a weekly basis
Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work related tasks.
