PALLET SORTER - Marion, IN
We are seeking a Pallet Sorter to join our Marion, IN team, working inside the Dollar General Distribution Center. If you have warehouse experience, a strong work ethic and a desire to learn, a Pallet Sorter position with CHEP could be a great fit!

Position Purpose:
The Sorter position is responsible for sorting pallets by hand for grading as they flow from the loading dock, production line and throughout the facility. This position involves tandem sorting that requires high collaboration with other team members. May leverage hand tools to remove nails or debris from pallets.
Major/Key Accountabilities:
Pallet Sorting
Sort pallets as they are moved from loading docks to sort line/area.
Removes debris and trash from pallets.
Determines which pallets require repairs.

The Donation Center Sorter is responsible for receiving donations at Wheeler Missions Donation Center (DC) and sorting, pricing, organizing, and inspecting all items. They will provide excellent customer service to Wheelers donors and show care and respect to all donations received.

The DC Sorters will greet customers for donation drop off and help them unload donations, provide instructions for tax forms, and provide other service to the donors as needed.
DC Sorters are responsible for inspecting, sorting, handing, pricing, and labeling donations for sell at Wheeler Missions Thrift Store.
The DC Sorters must be able to operate a pallet jack or forklift to move donations around the warehouse.
The DC Sorters must work effectively in a team environment of coworkers and volunteer groups.
The DC Sorters will follow instruction given by managers and may perform other duties related to maintaining a safe and organized warehouse as assigned.
Work Environment:
The Donation Center Sorters work out of Wheeler Missions DC Warehouse. The warehouse may expose workers to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and dirt.
Physical Demands:
Frequent holding and grasping of donated objects with hands. Must be able to transport these objects when loading and unloading donations.
Frequently required to lift up to 20 pounds to move donations effectively around the warehouse.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, twist, and perform other motions requiring strength and endurance when performing manual labor indoors or outdoors.

Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
