Job Description

As a Sorter, you are responsible for sorting pallets by hand for grading as they flow from the loading dock, production line and throughout the facility. This position involves tandem sorting that requires high collaboration with other team members. May leverage hand tools to remove nails or debris from pallets.

Duties:
Pallet Sorting
Moving pallets from loading docks to sort line/area. While removing debris and trash from pallets.
Showing great attention to detail and determines which pallets require repairs.
Productivity:
Strive to meet daily production targets.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
Wear and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
Working Conditions:
As a Sorter you will work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. That includes Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
The role requires standing for long periods of time wearing head to toe Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Understands the importance of machine guarding (handrails, chains, individual metal guards), inspects work area to make sure all guards are in place, and stays out of guarded areas unless properly locked out.
Uses equipment correctly and immediately reports any damaged equipment to the Supervisor or Lead Person.
Wears all required PPE, especially fall protection harness when in the sorter.
Keeps assigned area clean (catwalk, sorter cubbies, under sorter haul out chains, etc.).
Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED preferred.
A minimum of six (6) months of work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, carpentry, construction, or production environment.
Ability to understand, clearly communicate, and follow all safety rules and policies.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand, eye, and foot coordination.
