Responsibilities:
Recognize and identify diseases in poultry
Inspect birds for pathology issues and contamination to ensure compliance with Federal Guidelines
Monitor and communicate with the Sorter's helper to ensure that the correct tag and marking system is used to identify bird pathology and other carcass inspection issues.
Communicate with USDA officials and Plant Management on technical issues and complete necessary inspection documentation

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

Uses pitchforks, shovels, and similar hand tools to pick up general refuse, garbage, recyclables, trash, and yard trash from curbside and other areas as instructed. Rides with truck to disposal locations and/or recycling centers; assists truck operator and disposal personnel in off-loading. Assists truck driver in fueling and checking all fluid levels of assigned truck, including spares; cleans out trucks, including cab interior, daily, upon route completion. Performs related work as required.

Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.

Position works as part of a team with other co-workers in soiled linen sorting and washroom area. Position is responsible for the sorting of health care type linen into categories and load sizes as designated by management. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Move soiled linen carts from loading dock area when and as required
2) Move loaded carts of soiled linen into cart dumping position
3) Operate cart dumper whereby soiled linen is evenly distributed on soiled linen belt
4) Sort soiled linen into classifications established by management
5) Make up soiled linen sling loads in sizes and quantities established by management
6) Segregate sorted soiled linen on monorail system as designated by management
7) Keep work area clean and tidy throughout the workday; At end of workday all team
members shall be responsible for assisting in the cleanup of work area.
8) Immediately report all hazardous machinery and system conditions to supervisor or manager

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION

WORKING CONDITIONS
Soiled linen coming from various hospital area settings are considered to have some risks due to the contaminated condition of the linen. Employees will be required to wear a protective barrier gown and face mask while in the workplace. Gown and mask will be removed when leaving the restricted soiled linen area.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Operators assigned to this area shall have the physical strength to push/pull carts of soiled linen having a weighted capacity of approximately 300-450 pounds. Operator will be required to roll cart (weighing approximately 100 pounds) to a cart wash area for cleaning. Soiled sorting will require that operator regularly lift and open 35-40 pound bags of soiled linen.

The Warehouse Sorter Operator monitors all five conveyor lanes feeding the merge headed to our liquor box trucks on the wine and spirit side of the warehouse. The Sorter Operator will also be inspecting wave sequence integrity, resolving case jams, and checking for breakage while monitoring the lanes. While operating the sorter, this associate will be monitoring the WCS Monitor at the sorter desk to keep track of wave sequence, the loaders, and the no-read line.
