Pay rate $17.00 per hour Position works as part of a team with other co-workers in soiled linen sorting and washroom area. Position is responsible for the sorting of health care type linen into categories and load sizes as designated by management. Operator will rotate from position to position (cart dumping, soiled linen sorting, sling loading) as scheduled by manager or supervisor. Employees will be required to wear a protective barrier gown and face mask while in the workplace. Gown and mask will be removed when leaving the restricted soiled linen area. PHYSICAL DEMAND Operators assigned to this area shall have the physical strength to push/pull carts of soiled linen having a weighted capacity of approximately 300-450 pounds. Operator will be required to roll cart (weighing approximately 100 pounds) to a cart wash area for cleaning. Soiled sorting will require that operator regularly lift and open 35-40 pound bags of soiled linen.

Laundry Staff Description A laundry staff employee is responsible for making sure the Angus Barn linens are clean, sanitary and pressed. For the most part this position is self-paced and self-supervised. A laundry staff employee usually works with one other person. Therefore, a team member must be able to work well within a small team environment. Roll linen bins 8 - 12 yds. from the loading area to the washing machines. Bins may be as heavy as 65 - 75 pounds to push/pull. Linen bins have wheels on them. Press linens with a roller press. Set heat setting as to not damage linens. Dryers and rolling press is located next to each other. Set aside for other uses damaged, stained or torn linens. Hang or bag pressed linens as not to wrinkle them. Load clean linens into laundry bins for transport to the restaurant. Roll linen bins 6 - 8 yds. onto the truck to be transported to the restaurant. Bins may be as heavy as 65 - 75 pounds to push/pull. Qualifications Work hours are flexible for days that high temperatures are expected. Also hours may need to be adjusted if linens are needed earlier than normal restaurant business hours. High volume days, hours may be extended. 90% - 95% of the day is spent standing. Duties of a Recycling Sorter: • Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, paper) from incoming material. • Deposit recoverable items safely and efficiently into appropriate chutes. • Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items. • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies. • Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable material; remove unacceptable items as required. • Clean the recycling area by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels, cans, and bins. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Pay rate $17.00 per hour Position works as part of a team with other co-workers in soiled linen sorting and washroom area. Position is responsible for the sorting of health care type linen into categories and load sizes as designated by management. Operator will rotate from position to position (cart dumping, soiled linen sorting, sling loading) as scheduled by manager or supervisor. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Move soiled linen carts from loading dock area when and as required 2) Move loaded carts of soiled linen into cart dumping position 3) Operate cart dumper whereby soiled linen is evenly distributed on soiled linen belt 4) Sort soiled linen into classifications established by management 5) Make up soiled linen sling loads in sizes and quantities established by management 6) Segregate sorted soiled linen on monorail system as designated by management 7) Keep work area clean and tidy throughout the workday; At end of workday all team members shall be responsible for assisting in the cleanup of work area. 8) Immediately report all hazardous machinery and system conditions to supervisor or manager 9) Understand, practice and abide by all policies and procedures established by the hospital 10) Be flexible in attitude to be reassigned to other departmental positions when and as required by management. 11) All other duties as assigned POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Minimum of High School education with a diploma and/or GED equivalent. Must be able to read, write and comprehend all written memos, directives, policies, procedures, forms and charts used by this department. WORKING CONDITIONS Soiled linen coming from various hospital area settings are considered to have some risks due to the contaminated condition of the linen. Employees will be required to wear a protective barrier gown and face mask while in the workplace. Gown and mask will be removed when leaving the restricted soiled linen area. PHYSICAL DEMAND Operators assigned to this area shall have the physical strength to push/pull carts of soiled linen having a weighted capacity of approximately 300-450 pounds. Operator will be required to roll cart (weighing approximately 100 pounds) to a cart wash area for cleaning. Soiled sorting will require that operator regularly lift and open 35-40 pound bags of soiled linen.
