Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures. Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonographic examination. Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information. Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity”. This position will play a vital role in helping Doctors, and other healthcare professionals diagnose and treat patients in our facility. This role will be Part-time or PRN.MAMMOGRAPHY DUTIES As a Mammography Technologist at North Platte Valley Medical Center, you will play a vital role in our commitment to providing accurate and compassionate breast imaging services while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Your responsibilities will include performing mammography procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Perform mammography imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. Obtain patient medical history, prior imaging of breasts along with reports and verify patient identification and consent prior to performing procedures. Position patients correctly and operate mammography equipment to obtain high-quality images of breast tissue. Monitor patients during imaging procedures and address any concerns or discomfort. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed. Including required records to maintain FDA certification. Maintain and perform QA on mammography equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education / Experience / License and Certifications Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Certified by the State of Wyoming to practice and administer radiation. Experience in a hospital setting or healthcare. Current BLS certification, required. ULTRASOUND TECH DUTIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Ultrasound/Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. Use independent, professional and ethical judgement to safely perform sonographic exams. Conduct patient clinical assessment and perform the diagnostic medical sonography exam ordered by the referring provider in accordance with professional and organizational protocols. Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and to prevent compromised data acquisition or musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer. Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity”. Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonographic examination. Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education / Experience / License and Certifications ARDMS licensure required, OB/GYN preferred, abdominal small parts, vascular-minimum lower extremity venous, Echo preferred. BLS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AS A TECHNOLOGIST Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret imaging results. Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures. Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population. Maintain patient privacy HIPAA. Will perform clerical duties as necessary and directed by radiology leadership. Will participate in continuing education in an effort to maintain high quality services. Will schedule patients/exams as needed. Adheres to established departmental/organizational policies/procedures/protocols. Must participate in departmental QA/QC programs. Interacts with patients, providers, vendors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner. Verifies patients using a minimum of two patient identifiers. Provides excellent customer service, explaining exam information to our patients in a clear manner. Completes exams and charges appropriately. Cleans and disinfects equipment accordingly.
