Overview
Under the direction of a Perinatologist, performs Diagnostic and Interventional Ultrasound Procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply Ultrasound Technology. Responsibilities
Produces Diagnostic Ultrasound of patients in conformance with established department techniques and procedures by the proper selection and accurate operation equipment, technical factors, and assist the Perinatologist in the interpretation of the technical aspects of the completed examination.
Provides proper explanation of procedures to patients, their families, and others as needed to ensure the patients understanding of the examination to be performed.
Coordinates the work schedule for patients and procedures for efficient patient flow.
Maintains knowledge of all Ultrasound Equipment in the department.

A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency and has completed the appropriate Ultrasound certification which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. Overview
Under the direction of a Perinatologist, performs Diagnostic and Interventional Ultrasound Procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply Ultrasound Technology.
