Antenatal Testing Unit The Prenatal Ultrasound Tech will: * Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment's to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures. * Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of "medical necessity." * Conduct patient clinical assessment and perform the diagnostic medical sonography examination ordered by the Perinatologist in accordance with professional and facility protocols. * Apply independent judgment during the sonography examination to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images. * Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare the Preliminary findings. Uses independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. Analyses sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician as needed. Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patient while they are in the sonographer's care. Participates in the maintenance of ACR accreditation.
