Performs ultrasound procedures. Reviews patient scheduling procedures with the appointment clerks and handles any changes to preparation sheets.
Keeps patients on a time schedule.
Explains procedure to patient while maintaining privacy.
Recognizes and interprets diagnostic scan.
Performs and documents Quality Assurance activities.
Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy.
Meets standards of care for all patients from infancy through geriatric ages.
Operates the sonography unit.
Ensures ultrasound equipment is properly set up, used properly and maintenance.
Performs clerical functions required of the service.
Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly ultrasound room and patient areas.
Assists the Radiology Technologist when time and workload permits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
No additional experience required outside of a completed training program as identified in the education qualifications listed below.
Education:
Credentials from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography and American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certified.
Licensure:
Must possess State Certification in Diagnostic Radiology and Ultrasonography.
