This position provides leadership and day to day direction to the Engineering workforce while also functioning as the project engineer on some projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manage the daily operations of the Engineering Department; Manage launching new products in conjunction with the customer

3. Support continual improvement and advanced (lean) manufacturing projects. Support and develop the team concept through scheduled reviews such as team presentations, attending team meetings, and leading teams.
4. Create processes, procedures and workflow within the Engineering department to ensure efficiency and consistency in the design, manufacture and maintenance of technical data (e.g. BOMs and routings).
5. May help analyze product, customer, and regulatory requirements to determine tools, fixtures and equipment requirements for assigned projects. Plan sequence of operations and develop line layouts.
6. Produce measurable improvements relative to budget in reducing cost, cycle time, and inventories while improving total quality performance on a daily and monthly basis.
7. Direct and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects while ensuring their success in meeting their respective objectives.
8. Manage approved engineering budget and monitor actual expenses to ensure they fall within budget, analyze out of budget expenses and ensuring they are offset in other areas of the project unless fully justified.
9. May help present engineering plans, progress status updates and situationers to project stakeholders and financiers; Review and approve proposed engineering designs and subsequent product and process enhancements or changes.
10. Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, enforcing policies and hiring and firing of engineers
11. Function as internal expert on assigned processes. Investigate process improvements/alternatives. Recommend and report approach and viability.
12. Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, and communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain a specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Ā· Undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline
Ā· Master's degree in business or equivalent business experience preferred
Ā· Experience in a facility that has many different types of manufacturing processes with medical device background preferred.
Ā· Minimum of ten years' experience in the management of manufacturing operations
Ā· Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts, principles and philosophies required
Ā· Applied knowledge of capital and expense budgets required
Ā· Excellent understanding of strategic and operational planning required
Ā· Experience with Extrusion and RF Weld processes preferred
Ā· Proven experience in project management and team oriented culture

* Manages device driver development and support (one or more of USB, network, graphics, video, mtd, storage, power management)
* Design and maintenance of CI/CD
* Ported/maintain Linux distribution for a platform
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development
* Proficient in Windows, Linux and/or Mac operating system
* Proficient in C/C++ programming
* Experienced in the following:
* Computer architecture and server platform hardware
* System software development in C/C++ and Python
* Internals of Linux, Mac and/or Windows operating systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Working knowledge of VMM technologies like VMware/Xen/KVM/Hyper-V Experience.
* Experience with memory management and Kernel programming.
* Knowledge about SR-IOV, SIOV, DMA and PCIe.
* Experience with virtualization and containerization (Python virtual environments and Docker)
* Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Crucible)
* Subversion exposure Familiarity with ARM architecture a plus
* Solid knowledge of Linux kernel internals (process scheduler, memory management, concurrency/synchronization, memory allocation, file systems) and networking or storage subsystems architecture
