Under limited supervision, you will develop and implement engineering projects, specifications, plans, and designs for additions, modifications, and improvements to manufacturing equipment and plant facilities. Specific Responsibilities: * Develop systems and processes that reduce costs, enhance employee safety, improve product quality, and increase operating efficiencies and equipment reliability. * Executes and manages these projects from design conception to installation and commissioning. * Implements critical projects ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards and regulatory compliance, on time, and within budget. * Completes assigned projects that range from basic modifications of existing facilities and equipment to major construction of new structures and installation of equipment. * Proactively identify needs, conceive improvements, consider potential issues, evaluate costs and potential savings to optimize existing machinery and/or processes. * Performs root cause analysis using a number of established systems and techniques such as Failure Modes Effects Analysis, Cause and Effect diagrams (fishbone), 5 Whys, etc. * Conducts studies, collects data, and provides detailed engineering calculations to support proposed design solution. * Prepares cost estimates, writes detailed equipment specifications, obtains vendor/contractor quotations, writes purchase order requisitions for equipment, parts and material, and provides on-site supervision of construction projects to assure that plans and specifications are met. * Prepares drawings, project schedules, operating and maintenance procedures, including parts lists, to provide plant personnel with operating and maintenance information. * Maintains working relationship with outside consulting engineers, contractors, suppliers, and vendors to provide the Company with quality materials and professional assistance. * Interacts with Works Managers, Plant Facilities Engineers, Operations personnel, Purchasing Agents, and other department personnel internally and Consulting Engineers, Contractors, other entity engineering departments and equipment and material suppliers externally. * Solicits written bids from outside consultants, contractors and suppliers upon formal approval of projects; selects contractors and suppliers and negotiates variances in material, timetables and manpower to maintain overall schedule. * Obtains information from Engineering Department library and drawings, duplicate drawings as required and supplies information to plant personnel as required. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering required with Mechanical Engineering preferred. Registered professional engineer status preferred. * Seven to ten years broad based engineering experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment is desired, preferably a steel or foundry company. * Machine and process design experience a plus.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Controls to lead and manage our team of controls engineers. This role involves driving new business acquisitions, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring alignment with company goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in control systems, and the ability to provide high-level technical support. Responsibilities * Lead and manage a team of controls engineers, including task delegation, performance evaluations, and mentorship. * Drive new business acquisition by presenting solutions for controls upgrades and facility expansions. * Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients to identify and close new business opportunities. * Collaborate with executives and other departments to ensure alignment with company goals. * Oversee engineering task scheduling in line with shop and field schedules to meet project deadlines. * Develop and implement sequences of operations for equipment in line with client project requirements. * Provide technical guidance and support to troubleshoot electrical/programming issues both remotely and on-site. * Occasionally travel (10-20%) for client meetings, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems during construction projects. * Provide high-level technical support to manufacturing & construction teams when addressing complex issues. * Perform engineering calculations and ensure proper equipment selections for design projects. * Provide regular updates to the executive leadership on project progress, engineering performance, and departmental improvements. Essential Skills * 5+ years of experience working with various control system technologies and programming languages. * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer/Electronics Engineering. * Ability to lead and mentor a team with varying experience levels, technical abilities, and skillsets. * Strong client-facing skills with the ability to confidently interact with executives, engineers, and other stakeholders. * Prior construction/manufacturing experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Expertise in ammonia and CO2-based refrigeration systems, with a deep understanding of relevant safety and environmental regulations. * Professional Engineering License. * Ability and willingness to travel to construction sites nationwide. We specialize in designing, fabricating, and installing customized, turn-key industrial refrigeration systems. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
