A large medical device manufacturing client is looking to hire a Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering to lead a team onsite in Baltimore. This group produces medical diagnostics consumables and we'd love someone to come from a similar space. This person will be a people manager while also working on the floor, alongside their team. This person also will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and evaluating automated production equipment using fundamental engineering principles including thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, mechanical design and test methods to ensure product quality, reliability, durability, safety and effectiveness. This position requires knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities: Manages a team of engineers and technicians charged with maintenance, optimization, and upgrade of existing manufacturing equipment to achieve plant's manufacturing goals. Participates in the purchase and install, start-up and validation of new equipment and/or processes as required to meet product specifications, requirements and manufacturing expectations. Designs, develops, tests and evaluates Automation Equipment for the production of medical diagnostics consumables.
