This position is responsible for equipment qualification, advanced process development, compatibility/material evaluations, sustainability simulations and characterization targeting advanced semiconductor applications. This individual will need to lead and contribute to semiconductor hands on fabrication of process development projects to advance new products from concept phase thru manufacturing phase. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Thorough 300mm equipment and process qualification specific to Front end of line (FEOL) and Back end of the line (BEOL), etching of photoresist, ARC (anti-reflective coatings) spin on carbon (SOC) materials and deposited films. Work focuses on process development through experimental matrices to determine best known methods for etch of integration of lithography stacks (bi, tri and quad layers) and deposited films (SiN, Polysiliscon, Oxides, Metals, etc). Engineer must have experience with integration of lithography and deposited films stacks as well associated metrology: CD SEM, cross sectional SEM and must also be familiar with material characterization using analysis from such techniques as XRD, TEM, EDS, SIMS, Auger, AFM and thickness. Applicant must be versed in FEOL and BEOL semiconductor integration schemes, in addition to knowledge and experience in logic and memory device fabrication. Lot ownership that achieves fast cycles of learning is required. The successful applicant must be able to interface effectively with fab operations, process maintenance, and semiconductor engineering professionals from client companies. The candidate must execute projects-based tasks that include process development, integration and metrology/characterization of materials working side-by-side with a diverse group of engineers. Assume ownership and accountability for successful completion of projects and programs. Report results both internally and externally with presentation and formal report packages. Interact with other engineers in areas of design, growth, fabrication and test to facilitate fabrication and device optimization. Patterning experience and process development established within 300mm fabrication line. Other reasonable duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum Requirements for Etch Development Engineer B.S. degree in Materials Science, Physics, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND 10+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry as a Process Development Etch Engineer OR M.S. degree in Materials Science, Physics, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization and 5+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry as a Process Development Etch Engineer. A good understanding of BEOL and FEOL integration - particularly as related to metal and material schemes - is required. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, exhibit solid leadership ability, be familiar with SPC/DOE methodologies, and be willing to execute a variety of tasks on short notice. Good program management and customer interface skills are essential. Knowledge of MS Office, DOE, and yield/defectivity analysis software are strongly recommended. Primary Responsibilities during the SWRCC 10-month appointment only: * The primary function of this position will be to build and maintain the SWRCC website, which will include: * Creating dynamic web-based applications which incorporate a variety of weather data in maps or dashboards * Incorporating non-meteorological datasets of interest such as infrastructure, population, socioeconomic status, etc * Basic information about the Center * Develop weather-themed APIs for SWRCC stakeholders * Work collaboratively with the SWRCC Weather Product Developer, Risk Communication Scientist, and other SWRCC employees to create responsive web-based applications well-suited to both external and internal stakeholders * On occasion, assist the SWRCC team with basic computer needs where they concern weather products that may be incorporated into the SWRCC website * On occasion, present to both external and internal stakeholders on the functionality of the websites and tools this position creates * Organize and maintain GIT code repositories * Coordinate with ASRC's computing supervisor on maintaining and updating SWRCC's servers as needed * Occasionally mentor student interns if they are assisting with this position's functions During the Center of Excellence in Weather & Climate Analytics and/or Research-funded 2 months: * Participate in website construction, API development, or other substantially similar activities for the project in question using a similar skillset to that applied during the normal 10-month SWRCC appointment.
