Summary
Supports HIV-impacted individuals and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Completes assessments/evaluations, develops and implements treatment goals, facilitates referrals/resources both internally within the Lehigh Valley Health Network continuum and throughout the community, and provides therapeutic interventions to address patient's mental health needs. Functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary and multicultural care team privileged by the Department of Psychiatry.
Job Duties
Assesses and identifies a patient's behavioral health needs, barriers to care, and therapeutic interventions/techniques to assist the patient to their optimal level of functioning.
Demonstrates expertise in various therapeutic modalities, the DSM 5 Classification system, multi-cultural issues, and employing counseling and education skills to empower their patients.
Completes medical record documentation in a timely manner in accordance with program, departmental, regulatory, third party payor, and network compliance standards.
Works collaboratively with both internal/external customers and teams. Uses knowledge of available resources to ensure patient care needs are met and transitions of care coordinated.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in counseling, social work, or other clinical discipline, such as psychology.
2 years experience in counseling or social work in a mental health related field.
Ability to use good judgement to respond to emergencies.
Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Comprehensive understanding of behavioral health services and appropriate levels of care.
Familiarity with differential diagnosis of common mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Knowledge of public health problems, principles, and practices.

Attend weekly meetings with Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or Program Administration to notify stakeholders of issues impacting student progress and overall care.
Strong knowledge and deep understanding of behavior analytic interventions.
Document all services provided, student progress, and other relevant information in accordance with Behavioral Health Associates policies and legal requirements.
Respond positively to supervision and suggestions for improvement.
Employ restorative practices throughout the school community.
Work to stay current in subject and content area of instructional techniques and the field of ABA.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, School Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited college or university, required.
Behavior Specialist License, required.
Minimum 1 year of experience conducting FBA's, familiarity with common assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, EFLs, AFLS, etc.), and developing/implementing behavioral support plans for individuals under 21 years of age.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and leadership team, while maintaining professional boundaries.
Positively represent and promote BHA services to outside organizations.
Maintain confidentiality in all matters, including the dissemination of information regarding program development, staffing, and billing.
Ability to work both independently and as a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Uses interventions with assigned clients, which meet accepted and current standards of mental health care and reflect consideration of the treatment plan. Maintains amount of weekly scheduled client hours as required by departmental needs and standards.
3. Participates as a treatment-team member and maintains a current level of psychotherapy theory and practice. Produces an evaluation report, which effectively addresses the reason for referral and reflects the sound organization and synthesis of fact, impressions and clinical recommendations. Completes progress notes, reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
