Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of paid professional caregiving experience (non-family) OR be a CNA, HHA, LVN/LPN, or RN
Must have three professional references
Willing and able to work at least two weekly shifts with the same client(s) to provide consistent care and build strong relationships
Have basic English speaking, reading, and writing abilities (Bilingual or multilingual individuals are encouraged to apply)
Complete any necessary compliance, license, or registration requirements

Inpatient Cardiac Surgery Job Responsibilities:
Develops differential diagnosis and plans of care based on data collection and revises based on physiologic and psychosocial findings. Interprets and synthesizes laboratory, imaging, and other pertinent data. Review's patient plan of care with interdisciplinary team and with the patient and family.
Evaluates and documents patients' response to care, and evaluates impact of illness on patients' health status, functional status, nutritional status, sleep and rest patterns, family and social relationships, and establishes a health promotion strategy.
Assumes clinical management for the critically ill cardiovascular patient population in collaboration with physicians in practice.
Assists in the development and revision of standards for patient populations and integrates evidence-based research findings into clinical practice.
Participates in clinical research/data collection and assists in projects and planning for continual development of respective specialty.
Provides formal/informal clinical and professional educational programs to improve staff knowledge.
Work schedule: 3-4 shifts/week with an expectation of 3-4 nights per month and 1-2 weekends per month.
Requirements:
Certification - Basic Life Support prior to start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (for Critical Care) upon start; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (for Pediatrics) upon start

Essential Job Duties:
Ā§ Perform hand hygiene when going in and out of residents rooms. Hand hygiene involves washing hands when soiled or after removing gloves. Alcohol hand gel/foam sanitizer is the other form of hand hygiene.
Ā§ Assist with transporting residents by pushing the resident who is in a wheelchair or recliner where he/she wants to go or to an activity within the facility, therapy room or beauty shop. Check that resident's feet are on foot pedals. Use good body mechanics and proper protocol.
Ā§ Answer resident's call bells within 3-6 minutes to see what he/she needs.
Ā§ Assist resident with bathing, toileting, and other personal hygiene needs as required.
Ā§ Pass fresh cold water each shift and snacks out to residents per protocol in a sanitary and safe manner. Pay strict attention to resident's fluid thickness orders or mechanically altered diets.
Ā§ Observe residents for changes and/or problems and report them immediately. Report all changes and/or problems to staff nurse promptly.
Ā§ Maintain resident rooms neat and uncluttered. Straighten closets, bedside stand, dressers, etc. Always ask resident's permission to go into her/his belongings as their rooms are their homes. Never move items without permission.
Ā§ Make resident's beds per standard.
Ā§ Correct safety issues regarding resident-care environment or equipment and complete maintenance or housekeeping requests as appropriate to keep environment free of unnecessary hazards. Correct potential hazards immediately or report them to supervisor.
Ā§ Feed residents requiring assistance and encourage residents as needed. Provide bib/cover-up if needed. If feeding is required, complete in an unhurried manner and feed in appropriate serving order. Serve trays within 15 minutes of arrival to unit.
Ā§ Take direction from staff nurse on your assigned unit.
Ā§ Manage time wisely to ensure resident needs are met.
Ā§ Encourage residents to attend activities and remind them of scheduled activities for the day.
Ā§ Complete items on āto doā sheets and return list to staff nurse prior to end of each scheduled shift. Advise staff nurse prior to the end of each shift if all assigned tasks will not be completed.
Ā§ Follow Fire and Emergency Preparedness Plans.
Ā§ Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Ā§ Attend all in-services, training and meetings as required.
Ā§ Meet all training requirements as required by Federal and State Regulations, company and community policies.
Ā§ Demonstrate a commitment to safety by following safety rules and guidelines; follow good housekeeping practices, take proper care of equipment and perform job duties and responsibilities in a safe and responsible manner.
