Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, our health care team. The APP examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with the treating physician. They ensure proper illness and injury care, assist in disease prevention management, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery while seeing patients in clinic and assisting with in-patient needs in the hospitals (Porter, Parker and Castle Rock Adventus Hospitals). The APP will also be involved in follow up out-patient visits. The APP will be responsible for supporting the day and evening call schedule when necessitated by physician schedule/hospital needs. They have an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, a strong foundation in evidenced based practice/education and provide an environment of safe, quality care for our patients, based on sound clinical judgement, professional communication skills, and timely and appropriate, compliant documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Examine, diagnose and treat patients.
Order and interpret diagnostic test results to treat a variety of gastrointestinal diseases
Assist physician in proper diagnosis and management/treatment of patient
Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information
Prescribe and administer medications and appropriate therapies
Advise patients of methods of disease prevention, prescribed medication, and health maintenance
Obtain health and medical histories from patients to gain a clear understanding of disorder/disease being treated and appropriate course of action
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the digestive system, diseases that affect it, and stay current with new developments in the field in order to apply the best possible practices.

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Clinical Gastroenterology Fellowship - 35891 Faculty
The goal of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Clinical Gastroenterology Fellowship is to provide a 1-year postgraduate gastroenterology training program for an APP in a clinical outpatient setting, designed to develop a specialization in gastroenterology through didactic education and clinical experience. The curriculum will provide the fellow with the background information necessary to successfully identify the main clinical manifestations, causes, and the differential diagnosis of the major types of gastrointestinal diseases and their complications. The curriculum will be primarily focused in our outpatient GI setting with core rotations including general digestive health, therapeutics (pancreas and hepatobiliary disease), esophageal clinic, inflammatory bowel disease and motility disorders. In addition, the fellow will have exposure within our subspecialties including hepatology, colorectal surgery, nutrition, hereditary colorectal neoplastic clinic, and inpatient hospital service. The core clinic rotations will range from four to eight weeks and the subspecialty rotations will range from one to three weeks. In between clinic days, the fellow will have 1 day per week for didactics which may be done on campus or at home. During this time, the fellow will be responsible for completing assigned reading materials and modules through the American College of Gastroenterology Education Universe Portal. This membership cost will be covered by the CME budget. At the end of each rotation, there will be a competency multiple choice exam as well as an assessment completed by the fellow and preceptor. There will be biweekly meetings with the Program Director via zoom. Upon graduating, the fellow will receive a certificate from Colorado University School of Medicine which verifies that they have completed all components outlined in the curriculum and have achieved program competencies.

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department: Department of Medicine Gastroenterology Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Clinical Gastroenterology Fellowship #00830158 - Requisition #35891 The goal of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Clinical Gastroenterology Fellowship is to provide a 1-year postgraduate gastroenterology training program for an APP in a clinical outpatient setting, designed to develop a specialization in gastroenterology through didactic education and clinical experience. The curriculum will provide the fellow with the background information necessary to successfully identify the main clinical manifestations, causes, and the differential diagnosis of the major types of gastrointestinal diseases and their complications.
The curriculum will be primarily focused in our outpatient GI setting with core rotations including general digestive health, therapeutics (pancreas and hepatobiliary disease), esophageal clinic, inflammatory bowel disease and motility disorders. In addition, the fellow will have exposure within our subspecialties including hepatology, colorectal surgery, nutrition, hereditary colorectal neoplastic clinic, and inpatient hospital service. The core clinic rotations will range from four to eight weeks and the subspecialty rotations will range from one to three weeks.
In between clinic days, the fellow will have 1 day per week for didactics which may be done on campus or at home. During this time, the fellow will be responsible for completing assigned reading materials and modules through the American College of Gastroenterology Education Universe Portal. This membership cost will be covered by the CME budget.
At the end of each rotation, there will be a competency multiple choice exam as well as an assessment completed by the fellow and preceptor. There will be biweekly meetings with the Program Director via zoom.
Completion:
Upon graduating, the fellow will receive a certificate from Colorado University School of Medicine which verifies that they have completed all components outlined in the curriculum and have achieved program competencies.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.
