Essential Duties Include the Following: Sitter Duties: Must maintain visible contact with the patient at all times Promptly communicates all patient requests to assigned staff Documents utensils into and out of patient room Observes the client for general physical, emotional, and mental conditions and reports all changes in condition Maintains a clean and safe environment. Provide diversional activities as designated by an assigned staff Remote Monitoring Duties: Provides ongoing observation through Camera/Monitor technology of patients on suicide prevention watch as a result of identified risk factors and high risk fall risk patients. Ensures pertinent patient data is brought to the attention of appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Notifies the appropriate staff nurse immediately if a change in patient activity occurs. Receives report for the Sitter/Monitor staff on the previous shift and gives an accurate report to the oncoming Sitter/Monitor. Identifies and immediately reacts appropriately to all life-threatening patient actions. Observes and records all patient activity every 15 minutes. Qualifications Experience: Communication and interpersonal skills in relating to public and peers. Organizational skills. Remote monitor training can begin upon successful completion of sitter role competency.
