Job Summary: The Exterior Construction Supervisor will oversee and manage all on-site construction activities related to exterior projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulation, and project timelines. This role requires strong leadership skills to coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and resolve any issues that arise during construction. Responsibilities/Duties: Supervise exterior construction activities for both new construction and renovation. Projects, including facade work, roofing, paving, sitework and other outdoor structural tasks. Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors to ensure timely project completion to approved plans. Oversee utility shutdowns or other critical operations as needed. Maintain a safe job site and ensure compliance with NYC building codes, OSHA standards, and local law. Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures. Maintain a detailed daily log of site activities, inspections, and incidents. Review blueprints and schematics to plan daily work activities. Address design problems and implement change orders as needed and resolve construction challenges efficiently. Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure cost efficiency. Ensure adherence to local permitting and regulatory requirements. Oversee punch list completion and project closeout processes to ensure timely and efficient finalization. Facilitate and lead subcontractor meetings to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations. Prepare and present comprehensive 2-week look-ahead schedules to maintain project momentum and mitigate delay. Contribute valuable input and insights for regular schedule updates to ensure project timelines are accurately reflected. Supervise and manage day-to-day field operations, ensuring quality control and adherence to safety protocols. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in exterior construction with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. DOB Construction Superintendent License. OSHA 30-Hour Certification and SST Supervisor Card. Strong knowledge of exterior construction methods and materials. Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore). Proficient in Microsoft software products. Strong knowledge of Local Law 11 violations, including a proven ability to effectively address and resolve compliance issues. Required Skills/Abilities: Leadership and team management. Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure. Conflict resolution. Knowledge of NYC building codes and safety regulations.
