Purpose: The Latitude Server is on the forefront of Resident interaction with the dining program for the community. From daily operation of the restaurant and bar, to catering and special events. This is a position for an individual who routinely exercises good judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills. As the face of the dining experience, maintaining positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment is critical while maintaining standards and authentically delivering the Latitude Margaritaville Lifestyle. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: * Prepare restaurant for lunch / dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins and utensils * Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies * Must be able to explain the chef's specialties; identify appropriate wines; answer food preparation questions * Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc. * Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording Resident choices; identifying Resident special dietary needs and special requests * Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars * Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process * Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs * Properly open and pour wine at the tableside * Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to Resident * Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor * Be willing to fill in for absent staff as needed * Assist with special events as needed * Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently * Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary Daily Operations and Customer Experience: * Maintains a high level of Resident contact throughout service hours * Build strong, effective teams through ongoing supervision, training, coaching, counseling and leadership * Create an "I Love My Job" environment that further enlivens the Margaritaville Latitude Lifestyle. * Ensure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules * Maintain a pristine dining area at all times. Technical competencies: Education: * High School Graduate or GED preferred. Experience: * Previous serving experience required * Excellent oral communication skills required * Positive interpersonal skills required * Food Handlers Card * Good telephone speaking and listening ability Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Must be willing to work nights and weekends. * Basic knowledge of beer, wine, & spirits * Communication skills (listening, verbal and written) * Organizational skills * Attention to detail * Problem solving skills * Common Sense * Team player but can work independently * Have fun!!!
