Job Summary (Essential Functions) Set and clean dining room tables before, during and after meal service; assist food servers with miscellaneous tasks. Job Tasks/Duties: Removes soiled dishes from table; brings to dish-washing area. Removes soiled linen and replaces with clean linen. Sets tables with silverware, glassware, and other items. Cleans dining room areas. Collects trash from dining room, grill, and other specified places after each serving period. Dusts chairs before and after meals. Cleans and stores child highchairs and booster seats. Cleans-up spills, broken service ware and attends to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to diners. Moves tables and chairs as needed for the next member and guest diners. Performs other appropriate duties as assigned. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds. No late nights. $8 per hour. Plus, a share of the tip pool. All sales in Food and Beverage have an automatic 20 percent service charge added. The service charges are added to the tip pool and are dispersed based on the number of hours worked during that pay period. Be a part of our team at the 330,000 square foot Savannah Convention Center currently undergoing an expansion and located directly across from historic Savannah on the Savannah River. This position is responsible for providing high quality catering service for banquets and receptions and to achieve customer satisfaction and retention. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain. Assist with collecting all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event. Assist with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads. Assist with cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc. Prepare tables with place settings as instructed by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain. Attend pre-function meeting for briefing of event details. Provide friendly and courteous customer service at all times. Remain at assigned station and perform duties as assigned according to each event. Report any customer concerns and/or complaints to Banquet Captain or Food & Beverage Manager. Breakdown tables and banquet equipment after each event. Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area. Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.
