Servers are the waitstaff in our shipboard restaurant, lounge, and outdoor café. You are the front line of the American Cruise Lines brand responsible for delivering exceptional guest service. As a server you will work onboard for a temporary 28-week period. Successful candidates possess the following traits: hardworking, natural leader, ambitious, goal-oriented, and a team player. Responsibilities: Responsible for providing guests an elegant and memorable dining experience. Efficiently set-up and break-down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including setting tables, arranging linen, silverware, china and glassware. Cater to all culinary requests in an efficient manner. Acknowledge guests by name, escort them to their tables, present food, and beverage menus, suggest particular courses and wines and kindly answer any questions they may have regarding menu items. Efficiently relay orders to the galley, and serve various courses and beverages with care, ensuring that all items look presentable and are properly garnished and decorated before serving. In addition to the routine restaurant duties, Servers may be required to perform other functions, such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and cater evening entertainment. Highlights: Pay - Wages range from $1,000 to $1,400 per week with additional bonuses. Under Federal Law and the Department of Transportation, we are required to pre-employment drug test all shipboard employees which includes testing for Marijuana and other controlled substances. To provide safe and conscientious service to our guests, the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. All shipboard employees also have emergency and safety functions essential to the safe operation of the ship that are included in your training. American Cruise Lines has grooming standards that include limitations on visible tattoos and piercings. This a temporary employment position not to extend beyond 28 weeks of shipboard work. Each restaurant associate will be trained in all FOH positions and can be expected to perform distinct roles on any given day to fulfill the needs of the operation. Key Responsibilities: Food Delivery: Ensure food is delivered from the kitchen to the table efficiently and accurately, maintaining the integrity of each dish. Guest Interaction: Communicate with guests in a friendly, professional manner, ensuring they receive their food as ordered and addressing any concerns promptly. Menu Knowledge: Thoroughly learn and test the menu before working shifts, including knowing all ingredients and being aware of potential allergens. Food Presentation: Ensure that each dish is presented as specified, with attention to detail in its appearance and serving style. Pre-Bussing: Assist with clearing empty dishes from tables as needed, ensuring that the dining area remains clean and organized. Full Hand In/Out: Always adhere to the "full hand in, full hand out" rule by ensuring that your hands are full when leaving or entering the kitchen or dining area. Consistency and Efficiency: Maintain excellent organization during peak service times, helping to ensure the dining room is running smoothly and guests are promptly served. Outdoor Dining: Enjoy and participate in outdoor dining service, providing guests with a memorable experience in a beautiful, natural setting. Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of food runner experience or 2 years of server experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ability to lift and carry large trays and food items in and out of the kitchen efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with guests professionally. Knowledgeable in menu testing and the ability to recall all ingredients for each dish, along with allergy awareness. Familiarity with food presentation standards for each menu item. Pre-bussing tables and maintaining organization in a fast-paced environment. A great attendance record and reliable work ethic.
