Restaurant The Server will: * Escort customers to their tables. * Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. * Inform customers of daily specials and explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. * Serve food and/or beverages to patrons. * Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. * Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. * Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning. * Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, napkins, linens, etc. * Take food and beverage orders over the phone. * Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with SPUH policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position. * Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other SPUH employees and quests to foster and promote a fun and harmonious working climate that maximizes morale, productivity and efficiency. Requirements: * Knowledge of proper dining room protocol as usually acquired with at least 1 year's experience serving in a similar style restaurant * Possess pleasant, polite and responsive manner for dealing with public as well as other members of the Restaurant 254, both in person and over the phone * Ability work under pressure and possess stamina to cope in a noisy and chaotic environment * Good organizational skills for dealing with diverse duties and fellow workers and customers * Enjoy being part of a team * Ability to understand and comply with Saint Peter's and New Brunswick Health Department health and safety guidelines Grade 110

Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation methods, cook time, major ingredients, quality standards, taste, the appearance of products, texture, serving temperature, garnish, and plate presentation. Escorts guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend congenialities in a prompt and professional manner. Extends a courteous departure as guests leave the restaurant. Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, and think clearly when providing service to multiple guests within any given period of time. Inspect tables and stations, ensuring that all setups meet the departmental standards. Check throughout the guest's stay, and relay deficiencies to management for immediate follow-up and corrections. Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work area. Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision. Ensure that tables are cleaned and reset according to Company standards.

Beach Bar Server Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner. Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders. Must be willing and able to show that you are energetic, outgoing, fun person while maintaining professionalism at all times. Must be willing to provide outstanding and professional service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction. Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff both verbally and utilizing the point of sales system. Communicate with guests clearly, patiently and with good humor. Must be well-versed in all concept products and menu items in order to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items. Consistently checks guests' identification to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol beverages. Monitor guest behavior and amount of alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guests should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests. Must be able to complete all side work assigned. Accurately account for all sales and payments from the guest. Alert Management of any service and/or safety issues. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages. Server Qualifications At least 1 year of serving in a fast paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment. Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred. Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured. Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, bartender, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors. Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency. Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc. Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. The Server position requires the ability to perform the following: Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.). Must be able to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during each shift. Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely.
