Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service Writes order on check or memorizes it Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving Serves patrons from chafing dish at table Carves meat, bones fish and fowl, and prepares flaming dishes and desserts at patron's table Observes dinners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed Totals bill and accepts payment to refers patron to Cashier Ladles soup, tosses salads, portions pies and desserts, brew coffee, and performs other services as determined by establishment's size and practices Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course Place and process food and beverage orders utilizing the restaurant's POS system Perform other duties as appropriate and directed by supervisor/manager QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and/or skill required. Education and Experience: Minimum of six months of food and beverage experience Prior experience in customer service Correct use of business English language Customer service principles and practices Required Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of: Applicable laws, codes and regulations Skill in: Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines. Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities Dealing successfully with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds Multitasking while paying attention to detail and completing tasks in a timely manner Strong organizational skills Safe work practices and sanitation related to food preparation and service Customer service principles and practices PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Job Description:

  • Serve meals and beverages using proper techniques
  • Clear tables and assist with meal prep as needed
  • Understand and accommodate therapeutic diets
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and guests
  • Assist residents with mobility and assistive devices
  • Monitor meal quality and presentation
  • Perform side tasks such as refilling condiments and folding linens
  • Help prepare take-out meals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays

Position Requirements:

  • Hard skills: Basic food prep, ability to follow special dietary requirements, familiarity with therapeutic diets
  • Soft skills: Dependable, detail-oriented, good judgment, calm under pressure, effective communicator
