Responsible and held accountable to the Bar & Special Event Manager for the general operation of the bar, adhering to all rules and procedures of the Elk Grove Park District, and enforcing rules and procedures as dictated by the Illinois liquor commission and village of Elk Grove. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Tend to all customers at the bar with prompt and courteous attention.
Taking food orders for customers at the bar and in the bar seating area
Serving food and drinks to customers at the bar and bar seating area
Responsible for restocking the beer coolers behind the bar and restocking the bar walk in cooler.
General upkeep and cleaning of the bar including clearing tables, taking out trash, vacuuming, washing dishes, and overall bar cleanliness.
Monitor video gambling room verifying patrons are of legal age.
Request that patrons provide valid identification indicating their name, date of birth, and includes a photo.
Responsible for monitoring patrons and taking necessary action before a customer has become intoxicated.
Knowledge and ability to turn away guests who are intoxicated or have no valid picture ID
Responsible for correctly charging customers and accountable for your cash drawer at the end of the shift.
Must adhere to all safety and liquor commission rules.
Responsible for cleanliness of the bar and informing the manager of any needed supplies or equipment.
Answer general golf course questions and be familiar with tee time software
Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age.
Must attend necessary training and obtain BASSET certification to serve alcohol.
Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to high school diploma
Preferable background in bar operations equivalent to one year.
