The general greeter receives callers at the dealership, determines the nature of their business and directs callers to their destination. Additional, the general receptionist/greeter will answer basic inquiries, route incoming telephone calls, take messages and provide basic information to all callers. Two to three evenings a week 5:00PM to 8:00PM and an occasional Saturday 8:30PM to 5:00PM Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Greet showroom customers and determines the nature of their visit. * Direct customers to the correct department, notifies the appropriate person that a customer is waiting, and introduces the customer to a sales person. * Answer incoming phone calls and directs callers to the appropriate department or individual, or takes a message. * Communicate with callers and visitors in a professional, friendly and efficient manner. * Obtain basic demographic information about each customer, using an ups card, a computer system, a log sheet or other method established by the dealership. * Run prospect reports for managers weekly. * Communicate messages to the appropriate parties in a timely manner. * Assist with clerical duties as requested. * Maintain a professional appearance. * Other tasks may be assigned. * Meet and record names of all customers who approach the lot or showroom inquiring about new or used cars and trucks. * Distribute the customers to the on-duty sales force according to the "UP" rotation for that shift or day. Minimum Competencies * Detail oriented. * Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner. * Good organizational skills. * Better than average ability in filing.
