Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist strategic collaborations team, responsible for defining, building, and deploying targeted strategies to accelerate customer adoption of our GenAI services and solutions via collaborations with our strategic partners. You will directly engage with our partners, develop joint-GTM motions and work with internal teams to help our customers tap into new markets by utilizing GenAI. You will drive joint-GTM goals by engaging with customer, conducting external/internal evangelism, developing demos and proof-of-concepts of GenAI applications/use cases utilizing large models.
You will have the opportunity to establish new strategic initiatives with key customers/partners, define go-to-market (GTM) strategies for GenAI and lead cross-functional initiatives to expand existing markets, develop scalable programs to drive adoption, and identify new opportunities. This involves activities include market sizing, building an opportunity pipeline, working with customers to understand technical requirements for proof-of-concepts, creating content to train the field teams, driving industry thought-leadership, working with product teams to define new features, and identifying partners and potential acquisitions.
As the ideal candidate, you possess a business and technology background that enables you to lead and drive engagements with startups and large enterprises. You have domain expertise in GenAI and key ML use cases, have technical depth to articulate the benefits of our GenAI-related services and solutions to data scientists, and line of business and C-Level executives. In addition, you have a good understanding of the GenAI market trends, ecosystem, opportunities, and are passionate about market development and evangelism. You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with teams within AWS (product, solutions architecture, sales, marketing, and professional services) and externally with customers and strategic partners.
You will drive the development and execution of the GTM plan with strategic GenAI partners for building and scaling GenAI solutions cutting across several AWS services and solutions. You will work across GenAI BD & Solution Architect (SA) teams to interact with customers to understand their business problems, and work with partners and AWS SAs to define and implement scalable GenAI solutions to solve them. You will conduct external/internal evangelism, and develop and publish thought leadership assets such as blogs and case studies.
You will collaborate with other teams within AWS such as product teams, field solutions architecture, sales, marketing, as well as representing your team to executive management. You should be passionate about helping customers/partners understand best practices for operating on AWS. You will also look for patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers that can help accelerate innovation. The Commercial Training, Associate Director role is based in the South San Francisco headquarters, reporting to the Senior Director Marketing. The Associate Director, Sales Training plays a critical role in supporting Rigel's achievement of our strategic objectives. Our current approved product portfolio requires the sales team to continuously enhance their knowledge and skill sets needed to meet immediate and future opportunities. Therefore, the Associate Director, Sales Training will lead the identification of training needs, develop effective training initiatives, coordinate implementation, and evaluate the impact of all initiatives to ensure sales excellence in line with brand strategic objectives. These initiatives may cover disease state, treatment landscape, clinical product knowledge, selling skill, reimbursement, business skills and territory management. This role will also support potential of new product launches.
Salary range: $170,000 - $200,000
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate commercial training & development activities for new hire training, advanced training, annual sales meeting, plan of action meetings and ongoing training requirements.
Develop and maintain current and deep knowledge of the disease state, landscape, clinical data, market dynamics, patient journey, market research insights and messaging for the promoted products.
Collaborate with key stakeholders (marketing, business operations, market access, compliance, field training advisors and others) to understand product strategies, tactics, messaging, physician targeting, and reimbursement practices to identify training needs.
Utilizing adult learning principles, develop specific training plans and materials to meet identified training needs, aligned with the current strategy and available field resources. Training content may include but is not limited to, selling skills, disease state, product, marketplace, reimbursement, and/or communication skills.
Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs and corresponding materials for newly hired and tenured field sales representatives and sales management to support commercial efforts.
Facilitate main stage presentations and lead training workshops in various meetings, such as national sales meeting, new hire training or POA.
Manage vendors to ensure delivery of high-quality training materials on time, within budget and through the appropriate promotional review process.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs colleagues to develop scientific/clinical content for ongoing education of the sales team.
Work closely with the sales team to identify and train to “best practices” in key areas of sales execution.
Ensure programs and materials deliver the appropriate message in a manner consistent with Rigel compliance, regulatory and other policies, and guidance.
Maintain systems and processes to track training records and outcomes, including Rigel Learning Management System and field coaching reports.
Conduct field rides with sales representatives and provide coaching and feedback to management.
Timely maintenance and communication of the training calendar to all stakeholders.
Attendance in the South San Francisco headquarters weekly for essential meetings and workshops with cross functional collaborators, promotional review committee, the management team and other headquarter based employees.
Additional Duties:
Lead the development of training materials for new indications, new products, competitors, etc.
Establish development programs allowing TBMs the opportunity for self-directed / company supported skill enhancement, collaborating with Human Resources, Sales, and Executive Management.
Participate in ongoing assessment of training needs with the field force, marketing, and medical.
Conduct, analyze and report evaluation measures of application and business impact in reference to training curriculum.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED
BA/BS
8+ years relevant experience of which 3+ years are in a Training role.
4+ years industry experience in a customer facing sales role of which 2 years are in specialty sales.

Preferred
Experience in Hematology, Hem/Onc, or Orphan/Rare Disease.
Experience with instructional and testing design.
