PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions of the role include resolving complex networks issues, supervising and mentoring a team of people that monitor network incidents, driving results by tracking KPI metric performance, communication, hiring and selection of quality candidates, collaboration, administration, and self-development. * Supervise and mentor a third-party offshore alert monitoring team, ensuring seamless 24/7 network health and performance oversight. * Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) and lead advisor for the Managed Network Support organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and best practices. * Provide Tier-3 support for the MNO Support teams, assisting in complex troubleshooting, issue resolution, and escalated customer situations. * Lead incident resolution efforts for high-priority outages, guiding teams through troubleshooting and restoration procedures. * Collaborate with Datacenter, Implementation, Product, and Technology teams on network-related projects. * Serve as a technical leader for networking issues, supporting Tier-1 and Tier-2 MNO Support teams and Sales Engineering. * Oversee and enhance network alert monitoring processes, reviewing performance data, coaching support agents, and driving consistent resolution of trouble cases. * Lead team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions, cascading key information, best practices, and performance expectations. * Develop and improve operations processes and best practices to enhance efficiency, service quality, and response times. * Collaborate with Cox NOC, Service Assurance, network equipment vendors, and ISP/MSP providers to ensure optimal support and resolution pathways. * Act as a bridge between RapidScale Network Support, internal sales, customer case teams, and customers, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution. * Maintain awareness of evolving business, technical, operational, and infrastructure challenges, acting as a consultant for creative solutions. * Some on-call responsibilities and occasional off-hours work required. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field * Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead contractor resources and technology teams, and manage various vendor relationships * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Excellent problem solving, process management, and collaborative skills * In-depth understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP. * Deep level knowledge and experience with protocols/technologies such as TCP/UDP, Routing and Switching, SSL/IPsec, VPN, VLAN, STP, SSL, BGP, QoS, MPLS, DHCP, Networks Security, and Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW) * Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies * Experience with network performance monitoring and management tools * Ability to mentor, advise, and help build up less experienced team members * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical details to a range of audiences, including those without a technical background. * Understanding of server virtualization * Experience in Monitoring, analyzing and evaluating network performance to ensure system availability and reliability and traffic flow optimization * Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams, vendors, and complex projects * Industry certifications like Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP), VeloCloud VCP, or Fortinet NSE4 Preferred: * Proven SD-WAN experience with either one of the following vendors, VeloCloud, Fortinet, or Meraki * Excellent problem solving, process management, and collaborative skills * Possess strong sense of customer empathy and care deeply about top customer problems * Strong ability to monitor and troubleshoot network performance and integrity. ABOUT THE POSITION The Infrastructure Engineer is a key player in the deployment, maintenance and support of organization's IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Active Directory, Server Hardware, Server and Desktop Virtualization, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Data Backup & Archiving Systems, Server Operating Systems, Tools & Platform Software, and Data Center Management & Disaster Recovery. NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK Deploy, configure, and maintain foundational Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, user accounts, and group policies. Manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix) to build and patch virtual server and VDI machines, ensuring resource allocation and efficient utilization. Implement and manage Storage Area Networks to provide scalable and reliable data storage solutions. Monitor and maintain data storage systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance Assist in the development and maintenance of data backup and archiving systems, ensuring regular backups and adherence to retention policies. Respond to backup and recovery issues, performing data restores when necessary. Monitor data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental factors, to ensure optimal operation. Assist Senior and Lead Infrastructure Engineers with development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and procedures, as well as contribute to disaster recovery testing and recovery efforts during incidents. Assist with the deployment and management of cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and ensure integration with on-premises infrastructure. Provide 24 x7 x 365 advanced technical support to resolve infrastructure-related issues, working to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex problems and incidents. Adhere to SDLC protocols and IT Service/Change Management procedures including change control, Incident and problem resolution, and call logging from acknowledgment through resolution. Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes and troubleshooting procedures, and assist with development of various metrics for all managed infrastructure. Work closely with Lead and Senior Infrastructure Engineers and Information Security teams to identify and remediate system vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with current platform and industry security standards. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position. 7-9 years of technical experience, including 2-4 years of dedicated experience in an Infrastructure Engineering role building, designing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure (both cloud and on-premise) with expertise in Active Directory, User Management, Server Hardware, Virtualization, Storage, and Data Center Management or a Bachelor's Degree in Technology or related field and 3-5 years of technical experience, including 2-4 years of experience in a dedicated Infrastructure Engineering role building, designing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure (both cloud and on-premise). Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies administration (VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix). Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012 and later, MacOS 11.x or later, Android and iOS operating systems, and Desktop Imaging technologies. Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), NAS, and data backup & archiving systems. Demonstrated proficiency in patch automation, security remediation, infrastructure scripting and automation. Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and TCP/IP Network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, IPV6, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, WWW, FTP and DFS. Ability to function in a Consumer business environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
