Job Purpose
Assembly Process Team Manager is responsible for the management of the Process group to meet New Model Trial-Stage and Mass Production Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) objectives. Performs day to day management of teams based on policies and procedures, including but not limited to, setting specific plans for the team based on department goals. Responsible for overall department Process efficiency metrics while maintaining/improving SQDC results. Meets company and plant direction for SQDC as it relates to Process Group. Lead the team and provide direction to effectively problem solve. Prepares department for New Model Trial-Stage launch with proactive strategies
Key Accountabilities
Manage Process group daily activities to meet all SQDC objectives.
Work closely with department Project Leads (PLs) and staff groups to correlate inputs into group plans, completing design studies, and data reviews in Trial-Stage and Mass Production.
Investigate & recommend improvements to process design, line layout, product or part design, and the tools utilized in production to help eliminate top SQCD concerns.
Recommend and develop strategies for improved output
Support project team with special studies and investigations specially surrounding Trial-Stage plans, including total headcount requirements, Maynard Operating System Technique ( MOST) build and risk identification
Investigate new technologies and systems to improve training for departments as well as to improve production methods and process design
Study of current or future situations to create and present information for the purpose of explaining the problem, proposed solutions, and to secure support for activities
Mentor Process Group for future succession planning and teach these skills and techniques to others in department
Investigation of new techniques, communication and reporting of such
Communicate information related to SEQDC achievement throughout the organization
Strategic planning for upcoming projects/events/schedules/workload
Lead Battery Eelectric Vehicle (BEV) ramp down requirements to be complete for 103 to104ki
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
5+ years Process work experience based on education
Strong product and department knowledge.
Strong understanding of Honda's business and the department's role and function.
Technical "know how" and understanding of Honda's Business Methodology (Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) - Check Plan Action - Do (CAPDo) - Total Quality Management (TQM).

Team Collaboration: Work with internal and external teams to ensure the proper tools, fixtures, and additional equipment is in place to meet the required productivity, quality objectives, and cost objectives. Verify with commercial(sales) side that we are doing what our established BOM requirements are. Be a part of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and other equipment development and design. Ensuring that the company will be able to meet productivity requirements, quality objectives, and cost objectives. Communicate with the ABC Technologies team and the customer to ensure both parties are aware of the program status.
Quality Assurance: Establishing quality control measures and standards to ensure that automotive parts meet specifications and customer requirements. Developing and implementing quality inspection processes, procedures, and tests to detect and prevent defects in manufactured parts. Investigating root causes of quality issues or non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions to address them. Assist in development and implementation APQP documents such as Flow Chart, PFMEA, Standardized Work Instructions, Open Issues List, and other documentation utilizing a team approach. Ensure that all aspects of the Process Engineering Department are in full compliance with the Quality System established and they are being followed.
Equipment Maintenance and Reliability: Collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure that manufacturing equipment and machinery are properly maintained and optimized for performance. Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability. Analyzing equipment performance data, conducting failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and implementing reliability improvement initiatives to enhance equipment uptime and longevity.
