Job Responsibilities
Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously as a prime or subcontractor. We predominantly perform work as a prime contractor (approximately 90% of the time).
Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment.
Work with the crews while overseeing, scheduling and directing all facets of a specific or multiple paving and road construction project(s).
Responsible for profit and loss on all assigned projects.
Must establish and maintain communications and a working relationship with subcontractors, owners and government officials.
Know the status and cost of the various operations on your project(s).
Supervise and approve the paperwork flow, such as timesheets, daily reports, and tickets.
Assist in any way possible within your capacity to progress the work on the project(s).
Maintain communication with the shop concerning equipment maintenance and repairs.
Establish a long-term plan for each project to allow taking advantage of equipment availability and to coordinate with other ongoing projects company-wide.
Maintain an up-to-date balance on all quantities for your projects.
Manage administrative duties in a timely manner.
Education/Experience
College degree is required, and 3+ years of experience in road construction.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred, including the ability to motivate personnel to achieve results.
Strong understanding of grades/drainage, mathematic skills and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively multi-task.
Effective, courteous, and professional communication skills required with internal and external stakeholders.
English/Spanish bilingualism preferred.
Willingness to work long hours and travel to assigned projects as needed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to oversee and be available as needed for projects that perform work outside of standard daytime working hours (i.e. night work).
Valid Driver's License.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, routine and capital maintenance and management, administrative duties, and client communications with several city departments. You will oversee a staff of 24+ employees in the daily operations and maintenance of both water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, reuse system, collections, distribution and customer service-related duties.
The Project Manager will play an active role in coordination and communication with assigned staff, client representatives, contractors, and any assigned engineering firms. He or she will also work closely with all parties to ensure effective system operation and optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing hands-on work and producing all required reports. He or she will coordinate the on-going daily operation of the utility system.
DUTIES:
Day-to-day operations and management of all water, wastewater, and reclaimed water facilities and assigned pump stations.
Day-to-day operations and management of a SCADA System and remote communications network.
Implementation and management of an innovative predictive maintenance management program and a computerized maintenance management system.
Administration and implementation of all routine and capital repair and replacement projects.
Emergency responses for process upsets, equipment failures, force majeure events, all alarm events etc.
Provision of requested / required operations and compliance reporting to regulatory agencies and municipality.
Management and oversight of a large Capital Improvement Plan.
Collaborate with engineers on future planning and ongoing construction administration.
Attend council meetings and present project update presentations.

REQUIREMENTS
Senior Manager with 10 to 15 years' experience in managing complex water and/or wastewater utilities including laboratory, collection and distribution systems.
Ensure safety is the highest priority and that all SOPs are followed, and DOT, OSHA, Health & safety and other requirements are met. Conduct routine facility inspections and interact with regulators as required.
Demonstrate a collaborative and team leadership approach to this position.
Ability to make sound decisions with staff management, technical solutions, safety procedures and business operations.
Experience managing an operations budget of $4.5 million or more with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
