In this exciting role as a Sr. Distribution Engineering Manager at the Medtronic Memphis Distribution Center, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, regulating inventory strategy, improving day-to-day operations, and supporting other DC's in Medtronic's network when applicable. This role will demand experience leading at scale having while having a large impact on operations and will be critical in all strategic decisions made for the Memphis Distribution Center. This role will be analytical in nature, making data driven decisions for the site by the creation and maintenance of KPI's. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Controls the flow of raw and finished goods, services, and information between point of origin through receipt at the manufacturing site, through to customer placement to meet customer or manufacturing requirements. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration, and related functions. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints to meet marketing and financial objectives. Builds relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers through the resolution of delivery issues. Participates and supports Lean initiatives through A3 and Kaizen events both in house and via Global CI team. Develops relationship with automation vendors and maintenance team to drive improvements in machine uptime and ensure best practices are being utilized with all equipment. Integrates market intelligence from operating entities, distribution, transportation, suppliers, and customers to continuously improve competitive position. Partners with operations leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives together on the warehouse floor. Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience. Nice to Have Experience working in multi-national companies with diverse culture, matrix organization and regional led responsibilities Experience in Medical Device or Life Science industry Background in working with automation or in automated distribution centers. Strong transportation and distribution acumen, including knowledge of transportation operations planning, TMS, and cross dock operations inventory. Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc). Microsoft Office Suite User Experience with SAP and PowerBi. Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills. Experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives.
