Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with product development, testing, quality, and manufacturing. Project Management: Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards. Familiarity with process improvement tools and root cause analysis techniques. SolidWorks: Proficiency in SolidWorks Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication.     The Application Engineer/Estimator is responsible for structuring customer orders into the ERP system. This is achieved by constructing the project framework, creating production routers and purchase orders in order to meet the customer's requirements and provide pricing for the completed project. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Review the project request with the customer and/or salesperson. Review all customer supplied drawings, specifications, data, etc. For repairs, evaluate gearbox to determine necessary repairs and scope of work. Determine preliminary designs and specifications. Develop cost estimates based on the data supplied by the customer to include all preliminary design work, materials, production costs, etc. Review customer purchase orders to ensure they reflect the quote in accurate, up to date and meets the customers' expectations. Submit quote to customer in conjunction with the H&S sales team. Assist with overall workload within Applications Engineering to meet customer needs and department schedules. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree in mechanical or engineering, manufacturing, or related field; or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate would be a ME, IE or Process Engineer and have worked in the gear industry for at least five years. Working knowledge of the tools and methodologies necessary to efficiently manufacture parallel axis gears preferred. Experience quoting industrial gears and gear drives preferred. Energetic, self-directed individual capable of functioning in a fast paced, high expectation environment. Willing to learn gear and gear drive manufacturing processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to use Microsoft products and Baan MRP software. Ability to read and understand customer drawings. Creative thinker and problem solver. Can work well in team environment. Able to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job with or without accommodation.
