OUR EXPECTATIONS

As Senior District Manager you are responsible for maximizing the Southern California region’s revenue and cash flow growth by efficient use of people, processes and planning. You will be responsible for the development of all Café Managers and team members to deliver an obsessive guest experience that continually exceeds guest expectations. You must provide leadership and vision to the District management staff in support of Paris Baguette’s mission and values.


KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruits, selects, hires and trains cafe managers who are passionate about delivering on an obsessive guest experience and achieving profitability goals.
  • Identifies the training needs of cafe managers and works in conjunction with training team to execute applicable training.
  • Facilitates one-on-one or classroom training as appropriate.
  • Creates a mentoring and supportive environment focused on continuous development of teams.
  • Sets goals with cafe managers; conducts performance evaluations and skills assessments; creates career development plans, and prepares succession plans.
  • Continually inspects the Region/District’s Operational and Guest Service standards; consistently communicates standards to cafe managers and ensures execution at café level.
  • Proactively meets or exceeds guest experiences; deals promptly with complaints received, and puts action plans into place to address service gaps.
  • Consistent with the Region/Districts plan, ensures cafe managers have specific, focused and well-executed sales and marketing plans. Evaluates cafe financial progress and performance and helps to develop action plans accordingly.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures for food and beverage sales and consumption, food safety and health/sanitation.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are in compliance with organization’s policies and with all local and state regulations.
  • Utilizes preventive maintenance programs to maintain cafe facilities.
  • Proposes major capital projects in the budgeting process; works with the Company’s facilities manager to complete approved projects.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as, extended workdays to support business needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of progressive related experience in high-volume retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurant venue is required.
  • Three to five years of progressive management experience managing teams.
  • Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
  • Possess highly developed sense of guest service and interpersonal skills, including high integrity and respect for all individuals.
  • Solid communication skills, strong critical and analytical thinking skills.

**I. Job Summary**

Manages a full fleet of 350+ primary and secondary pieces of equipment, two fleet managers, five supervisors, and about 50 technicians at WM's largest hauling site. Competitive candidates will have solid heavy truck maintenance experience, good coaching/mentoring skills, and proven performance at a similarly large site.

**II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

+ Continually focuses on achieving market base profitability through effective management of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, including cost control, employee development, and high training and safety standards.

+ Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.

+ Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.

+ Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.

+ Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.

+ Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.

+ Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.

+ Complies with and ensures adherence to Waste Management-s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.

+ Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.

+ Assists in budget process as required.

+ Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.

+ Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.

+ Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

+ Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.

+ Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.

+ Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.

**III. Supervisory Responsibilities**

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes:

+ Direct supervision of 12 full-time employees, including:

+ Indirect supervision of 50 full-time employees.

**IV. Qualifications**

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

+ Education: Bachelor-s degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) or High School Equivalency and three (3) years of relevant work experience.

+ Experience: Three (3) years of relevant work experience as well as experience in a supervisory role (in addition to education requirement)

+ Applicable experience may be substituted for education requirements.
