Basic Purpose:

The scribe performs medical record documentation and clerical duties to increase provider effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity for improved patient flow and satisfaction.
To be considered, your availability must allow for you to work two or more of the following shift needs. You must be able to work the full duration of the shift time at least two days per week. Shift Needs:
Shift Need #1: Full Time, Mondays & Fridays, 7:30am-4:30pm CST, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7:30am-2:30pm CST, Wednesdays, 8:30am-4:30pm CST (Shawnee OK - Family Medicine)
Shift Need #2: Part Time, Mondays 12:30pm - 4:30pm CST and Wednesdays rotating 8am-12pm CST or 12:30pm-4:30pm CST (Shawnee OK - General Surgery)

Non-Clinical Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing and assembling medical record documentation/charts for physician(s).
Entering the patient room with the physician during patient visits to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing paper or electronic medical record applications.
Facilitates provider-patient care ensuring accuracy and timely completion of medical records for each patient.
Ensuring medical record compliance by self-documentation of Scribe name, title, and doctor working for as well as specific date and time entry.
Updating patient history and other pertinent health information in the patient record.
Preparing and sending all documentation to physician for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures.
Monitoring the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures.
Scheduling and receiving patients
Greeting and escorting patients to the exam room
Filling out insurance-related forms
Serving as a liaison between the patient and physician
Helping the staff arrange for hospital admissions and transfers
Helping the staff arrange radiologic and laboratory services
Perform other clerical duties as assigned
Entering pending Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE). Includes medication, diagnostic, and laboratory orders for clinicians, as directed by the physician
Other Clinical Duties and Responsibilities as necessary:
Explaining treatment procedures to patients and review instructions as given by the physician
Preparing patients for examination
Obtaining vital signs, as directed by the physician
Assisting physician during an examination, as directed by the physician
Assisting physician during a procedure, as directed by the physician
Setting up procedure trays, as directed by the physician
Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, as directed by the physician
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the US
Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
Ability to obtain proof of vaccinations as required by specific site
Typing speed 45+ WPM
Ability to fluently read, write, and understand English
Part-time Available to work two shifts per week (16-24 hours per week) for a minimum of 6 consecutive months
Full-time Available to work three shifts per week (32+ hours per week) for a minimum of 12 consecutive months
Ability to work shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours
Ability to understand HIPAA regulations and appropriately maintain confidential patient and client information
