Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Our Uniformed Division's mission is to protect facilities and venues secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees. Throughout its history, the Uniformed Division has accomplished this mission through individuals who embody honor, integrity and a commitment to excellence.
Today, the Uniformed Division has grown both in size and scope of responsibility and is mandated by law to provide physical security for the White House Complex and the vice president's residence at the Naval Observatory. It also provides security for the Treasury Department building and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C. The Uniformed Division also has specialized teams including Counter Sniper, Emergency Response, K-9, and more.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service: Assist visitors, address customer concerns, resolve conflicts.
Traffic Control: Operate checkpoints, manage congestion.
Access Control: Verify IDs, evaluate visitors, monitor alarms and CCTV.
Screening: Inspect vehicles and baggage, screen personnel and packages.
Equipment Testing: Test metal detectors, x-ray machines.
Information Security: Prevent unauthorized material departure.
Key Control: Issue and maintain keys, key cards, and combinations inventory.
Roving Patrols: Conduct foot patrols indoors and outdoors, inspect safeguards.
Emergency Response: Medical and security first response, assist EMS, fire, police.
Written and Radio Communications: Daily logs, regular updates, incident reports.
Maintain Proficiency: Participate in annual training including firearms proficiency, non-lethal weapons proficiency, use of force, and security fundamentals.

Your Role:
* Enforce all policies and procedures set forth by management team.
* Conduct safety and security patrols on foot in all assigned areas.
* Watch and listen for suspicious behavior or unusual situations that may create a security or safety concern.
* Sound alarms or call police/fire department as needed in a security or safety situation.
* Conduct checkpoint screening of all guests and luggage in a professional and polite manner using x-ray machines and wands.
* Retain and implement knowledge of all equipment necessary to carry out screening duties, as well as current certification to operate screening equipment.
* Handle and resolve difficult and sensitive guest inquiries and complaints in coordination with other Brightline entities; respond to questions and information requests from guests and outside agencies.
* Maintain accurate logs and provide required reports, including investigative documents.
* Cordially respond to requests for assistance.
* Remain focused, aware and vigilant in a busy environment to control access through assigned posts in accordance with Brightline's security initiatives.
* Monitor building Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and all intrusion/fire alarm systems.

They must be able to understand and react to emergency situations and operate electronic security control systems. Security reports to the Security Supervisor.
Your Responsibilities:
* Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills.
* Monitors and operates Electronic Security Control Systems and Emergency Response Systems.
* Responds to emergency situations in a timely manner.
* Monitors and controls access to the building.
* Accurately maintains daily logs, records, and forms.
* Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building/property.
* Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
* Works shifts that are subject to change based on property needs.
* Needs to read and understand The Continental Employee Handbook/Security Standard Operating Procedures.
* Attends Security / Front Desk staff meetings.

Skills - Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalency required.
* College level courses in business or hospitality preferred.
* Must possess strong customer service background.
* Two (2) to three (3) years of business experience in a similar position preferred.
* Command of information system hardware/software is required. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Multiple language fluency is desirable.
* Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
Physical Requirements:
