Duties
During the course of their careers, Uniformed Division Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:
Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Our Uniformed Division's mission is to protect facilities and venues secured for U.S. Secret Service protectees. Throughout its history, the Uniformed Division has accomplished this mission through individuals who embody honor, integrity and a commitment to excellence.
Today, the Uniformed Division has grown both in size and scope of responsibility and is mandated by law to provide physical security for the White House Complex and the vice president's residence at the Naval Observatory. It also provides security for the Treasury Department building and foreign diplomatic missions in Washington, D.C. The Uniformed Division also has specialized teams including Counter Sniper, Emergency Response, K-9, and more.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required.
Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
Be at least age 20 and less than age 37 at the time you receive a conditional offer of employment, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position covered by special law enforcement or firefighter retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement. Applicants with veteran's preference must receive a conditional offer of employment prior to reaching age 40 to continue in the application process.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.

What will you do?
Control the various entry/exit locations throughout the DNPS controlled areas.
Operate a walk-through metal detector, handheld metal detector and conduct hand searches of carry bags.
Only allow authorized guests / crew-members through the control points and direct them to appropriate locations.
Control pedestrian and vehicle traffic /check decals as needed.
Report all violations to the Security Supervisor or Security Management immediately.
Operate company vehicle at the Visitor Complex property or operations.

Highly responsible security work maintaining physical custody and control of inmates within the Alachua County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) Department of the Jail (DOJ). They are responsible for receiving and processing inmates, enforcing disciplinary procedures for the control of inmate behavior, including the application of restraint and use of force techniques, and the preparation of reports and documents necessary for operational procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY:
In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, your duty as a security officer performing safe guard services under CBP form I-259, issued by said entity, is to accompany a cruise line crew member under safe guard until they have departed to a foreign country. These crewmembers have had when entering the country, a C1/D Visa making it legal for them to work overseas. When they resign and/or are terminated or suspended, they have forfeited said visa. Therefore, their only legal means to stay in the country is with the security officer that accompanies them.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
When performing these services, each security officer is responsible for the crewmember that was assigned to him/her.
Security officers must be within ten feet of the crewmember and must not leave them alone at any time. The security officer must escort the crewmember EVERYWHERE. Courtesy is encouraged. The crewmembers are under supervision to ensure their departure from the U.S. under the rules and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Security or Law Enforcement training and/or experience.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Must be a citizen or a legal resident alien.
Must have an active Florida security officer license.
Must have a good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and capacity to work in varied places and locations.
