Description & Details Performs licensed law enforcement duties as an armed police officer enforcing the constitution of the United States, the laws of North Dakota, the municipal ordinances of the City of Fargo, and the rules and regulations of NDSU. Responsible for police patrol of university facilities and grounds, enforcing institutional rules and regulations, state laws, and city ordinances. Duties include conducting and writing investigative reports, maintaining traffic regulations and issuing citations, reporting unsafe conditions, checking building security and responding to alarms, protecting life and institutional property and other duties associated with a university police officer position. Position also provides for initial response and assessment activities in evaluating incidences consistent with Crisis Management Response plan related events. Makes physical inspections and security checks of grounds and facility. Reports fires and other adverse conditions and assists in suppressing fires or remedying adverse conditions. Responds to and investigates center intrusion. Controls disturbances and assists staff in de-escalating potentially volatile situations. Ensures the rights of all individuals are protected. Completes required security logs, documents and records accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for signing visitors in and out of the center and performing safety checks/inspections of bags and other items. Follows established guidelines and procedures for staff, student and visitors entering and exiting the campus. Completes investigations and documents information accurately and in a timely manner. Drives Center vehicles as necessary. Transports students as assigned. Picks up and delivers materials as directed. Reports vehicle repair needs to supervisor. Ensures that all safety procedures are followed by staff, students and visitors. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Valid ND Driver's License Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check!
