Completes paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
Performs self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application.

What we look for:

Summary of Position
The Lead Public Safety Officer is a uniformed officer position responsible for fostering and maintaining a safe learning and working environment for the Augsburg University community. This environment is attained through proactive patrol of the campus buildings and grounds and through positive interactions with the community served. This position assists with the supervision of officer staff, manages student patrols, and assists department leadership with creating, maintaining, and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
Patrol Duties
* Create and maintain a safe learning and working environment for members of the Augsburg community.
* Identify after-hours facilities issues and assist in the coordination of emergency maintenance response.
* Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance, including activating and coordinating police, fire, and emergency management response as needed.
* Provide required services to the Augsburg community, including walking or driving escorts, locking and unlocking of campus buildings according to class schedules and events, and providing information and assistance to the community as needed.
* Prepare complete and accurate incident reports for all security- and safety-related activities.
Oversight Duties
* Assist in officer training, including creating departmental standards, covering scenarios, and reviewing policies, among other duties.
* Assist the department leadership team in supervising officers on shift, including enforcing departmental policies and procedures and maintaining standards for officer staff.
* Assist the department leadership team with scheduling officer staff, creating policies and procedures, and maintaining departmental assets.
* Assist with on-site management of large events on campus, including creating post orders and assigning posts to officer and student staff.
* Assist with supervision of student employees to supplement officer duties.
On-Call Duties
* Be on-call every third week for staff in order to make decisions on actions to be taken by other officers, coordinate response with other departments, and respond to campus to handle emergency situations.
Additional Responsibilities
* Communicate and enforce campus policies and procedures as needed.
* Assist with and coordinate response efforts with the Department of Residence Life and Facilities Management.
* Review officer reports to ensure all information is included and accurate.
* Manage evidence locker and medical supplies.

Salary Information: The salary range for Minneapolis, MN (MSP - Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport) is $52,255 to $64,428 or $25.04 to $30.87 per hour and includes locality pay of 27.62%, and a retention incentive of 5% of adjusted pay that is unique to this duty location. This Transportation Security Officer position is located in Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSOs) within Security Operations (SO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. Duties may include but are not limited to:
* Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
* Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property, etc.), conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50lbs.
* Controlling terminal entry and exit points.
* Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries.

Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-D pay band (equivalent to the GS-5/6), you must meet one of the qualification requirements (A OR B) outlined below:
A. Experience: At least one year of full-time work experience in the security Industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
OR
B. Education: Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) high school equivalency certificate.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. TSO Dress and Appearance Responsibilities: TSOs must adhere to the current TSA dress and appearance requirements. For example, with the exception of half-inch diameter stud-style earrings, non-protruding ear gauges or spacers that match your skin and do not exceed one half-inch diameter, inconspicuous nose or tongue piercings that match your skin or tongue, body piercings may not be visible to the public. These requirements dictate if you have a tattoo that would be visible beyond the standard TSO uniform in areas such as the head and face including a partial tattoo that extends more than one inch beyond the upper neck or behind the ear, it could potentially render you ineligible for the position unless it was able to be covered at all times and not visible to the general public. Additionally, tattoos that are indecent, commonly associated with gangs, extremists, and/or supremacist organizations or that advocate sexual, racial, or religious discrimination, or have a negative impact on TSA's ability to carry out its mission must be covered at all times
Work Schedules for Full-time Positions: Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport.
* Full-time positions require 40 hours per week;
* Full-time work consists of shift-work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, which may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts and weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts.
* A "split-shift" consists of any two work shifts, each lasting at least two (2) hours in one 24-hour period, with at least two (2) hours between work shifts.
Work Schedules for Part-time Positions: Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport.
* Part-time shifts generally range from 16-32 hours per week
* Part-time work consists of shift-work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, which may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts and weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for whereabouts of residents and what they are doing at all times.
Monitor resident's behaviours.
Facilitate residential daily schedule including participating in, and providing support to residents, to include but not limited to, activities such as chores, deep clean of designated space, meal service, laundry service, groups, activities, and events.
Carry out regular checks on residents.
To administer medication at designated times, as prescribed by the GP.
Assist with planning individual care for residents as needed.
Communicate with the Clinical staff both verbally and in writing about the residents' general condition and developments in the home.
Rotate being on call in case emergency coverage is needed.
To answer the telephone and take messages as required.
Take residents out on outings.
Oversee visitation.
Perform some case management tasks (e.g., set up medical appointments, daily living skills, resume writing, insurance enrollment).
Write case notes during each shift.
Practice compliance with all policies, record keeping requirements, assigned documentation, and any other assigned duties.
Ability to manage time effectively and to multi-task.
Remain current and up to date on all training and certifications required to maintain employment with Steps For Change- Adult Residential.
