The purpose of this position is to observe, detect, deter, and report security related incidents that pose potential risks and threats to company assets. This role also provides alarm monitoring, emergency response support, incident notifications, physical patrols, and other security related services. Key Responsibilities * Professionally represent Corning Incorporated and the Global Security Division by performing duties including, but not limited to: * Respond to and assist in emergency situations, including fire, medical, and hazardous material incidents * Provide local site physical security through means of patrols, access control, and monitoring * Provide a wide range of customer service-related tasks * Communicate directly with Corning employees as a primary first-contact/first-report for all questions and concerns pertaining to security * Provide documentation and notification of daily activity and incidents * Providing as-needed support for various security operations, such as private and public events and projects that require security support * Shift work and the flexibility to work various hours, as well as a willingness to work unscheduled overtime as required Experiences/Education - Required * High School diploma / GED and two or more years of experience in a professional setting * Valid state driver's license * Ability to obtain a valid state security guard license with the support of Corning Incorporated (if applicable) * Ability to obtain CPR and basic First Aid certifications with the support of Corning Incorporated * Ability to provide excellent customer service * Ability to work as a part of a team in a professional setting * Aptitude for clear and effective writing under time-sensitive conditions * Ability to communicate effectively by phone and face to face * Ability to multitask and work independently * Sound judgment and decision making * Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity * Ability to work with various computer programs based on provided training. * Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Comfortable learning and adapting to new operational tools and processes * Ability to patrol assigned facilities and stand for long periods Experiences/Education - Desired * Associates degree, or experience in security or a related field Corning Global Security is committed to the growth and development of its staff at all levels.
